May my struggles and hardships help others, lol.
1. High quality, high thread count muslin is a must.
2. This is an excellent place to use those beautiful but thin fabrics that have crept into your stash...they'll be backed and tacked down by several layers of that muslin.
3. I used to find ironing soothing, now I know how long it takes for steam burns to heal.
4. I once considered learning something about origami, I'm over it.
5. Reminding yourself…

So, I finally drew a pattern on a quilt and quilted it...I am very bad at following curvy lines with that little round hopping foot. But the quilt is done and it will keep a child on the reservation warm.
So..now I"m trying to follow straight lines. My first day of doing this proved I'm much worse at following a seam line than I was at following a curving line.
Today I tried again.. my poor Irish quilt. I have to say I'm infinitely better now than I was at the start.. which…

I know some of my fellow quilters suffer with this illness or know someone close to them who does. The CFIDS association of America is asking for our help with an upcoming FDA workshop. It's a five-ten minute survey and it will be a great help, here is the link... https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/pt-focused-survey ..

Hi Viki,
Thank you for your comments on my quilts. Sometimes I don't feel like quilting for days. Right now I'm sewing all my scraps into 12 1/2" blocks. I press open the seams. I use them for scrap backings. They are very popular!
Viki I finally had my 5th neck surgery and am able to write a little before the pain gets so extreme that I can't write but I am still working on all of the squares first. you know how it goes when you start a piece then run out of fabric it is very frustrating. I am just cutting and filling in small light , med, and dark boxes right now. I have 2 pictures to work with right now my picture which, I will start with first then move towards the brothers. I'm concentrating on the contrast of the pieces right now.
Wow, a hundred quilts...that is amazing. I looked at your work and its great. I'm kind of a newbie to this, and I am a collector not a quilter but the diversity and sheer quantity of quilts I have had the opportunity to see online is remarkable. Pretty interesting site too!
Thank you, Viki!
I got your scraps today they are the best looking scraps they were al neat in the package. Goes to show that USPS did not throw it around that much.
I have a possible buyer for the quilt from Lancaster!
Vicki, do I dare share this joke with my husband. We're getting close to 50 years.
Well start saving... Juki's just come out with the new TL2200QVP, has auto up/down, thread cutter, 18" reach, gear driven, quiet, and a second handwheel within reach if you need it! I can only afford a Bailey right now (15") and it will go on my homebuilt frame. Hope to get it next mo. Since I no longer earn a living, I have a tight budget for "frills"llol.
vicki, how are you getting along with your quilting machine-in-a-frame setup? Did you get it working for you?
Thanks, friend!
