Tell us about yourself—as much or as little as you like.
I started quilting in 2004 when my husband was deployed and went overseas to Kuwait and Iraq. It really kept my mind thinking in a different direction. I made a memory quilt for him that year. After making the quilt top I was stumped and couldn't finish the quilt because I didn't know how to bind the edges. So I put the quilt away. A few years went by and in 2009 my mother talked me into joining a quilting class...I have been hooked ever since. I am a perfectionist so I'm not very fast but I have made 7 quilts since beginning to quilt. It began as therapy for me but now it is so much more, it's a place where I can go and escape.
