Barbara go to groups and look for quilting bee. There have been two bees done in October and November. This quilting bee is FIUP for Finish It UP so if you have projects you would like to finish, this is the place. Read the guidelines listed at the bottom of the FIUP and just say you want to be a part of the group. The deadline for joining is January 15th I think and because there are prizes involved through out, we all send in a fat quarter plus a postage stamp. The last two were lots of fun and very motivating to set goals and complete them with fellow quilters cheering you on. Then there are prizes along the way which makes it fun too.
Good evening Barbara. I love your quilts. You have such a variety, I am very much like that, always trying new techniques and learning new methods as I explore the world of quilting. I use quilting as a way to relax and enjoy the creativity of the wide variety of techniques available. Look forward to knowing you through this site.
I'm self-taught as well; there are no quilting groups or classes in my area, so it wasn't exactly by choice. I did hear about a machine quilting class that may be in September and I'd love to go to it. I love machine quilting an I'm sure I could pick up some tips. I do hope it happens; it'll be my first class!
Hi Barbara! I'm pretty new here as well and have finally figured things out. It's the only social networking site I belong to, so it was all new to me. I like it that I can have a blog, interact with other quilters and view photos. I've been quilting for almost 6 years now and the main reason is for therapy. I'm extremely high strung and quilting is the only thing that totally calms me!
