Happy Birthday, Audrey. Hope your day is delightful...
I have made @ 15 quilt tops but have only actually finished quilting (and given away) 10 of them. I have made matching pillow shams to several of them from leftover blocks, strips and/or material. I have a purple/navy blue top that I am keeping for myself, just have to sandwich it and quilt it to the back. It has several matching shams of various sizes.
Happy birthday, Audrey~I hope you have a wonderful day!
I'm Bridget and I live in Seaside, Oregon. It's a small town without any guilds or quilting groups, so I joined this site in hopes of meeting other quilters. Once I joined some of the groups it was much easier meeting people; everyone has been so friendly and helpful!
I've been quilting for 6 years and make quilts mainly to sell and donate. I'm wondering if you're going to post any of your quilt photos; one of my favorite things to do here is view everyones wonderful quilts!
Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and happy birthday!
Hello Audrey,
No, I do not currently belong to any quilt groups, have in the past, but found them a bit demanding of my time. I am currently finishing my BA in Accounting while simultaneously studying for my CPA exam, so I am pressed for time. Almost done with degree, so getting the urge to quilt, even though I sold my stash on eBay to pay for school. Kept some of my UFO's and machines, rulers and such, so will not be that big of deal to get back into it.
Thank-you for asking if I am in any quilting groups. The answer is no.
I live in Saginaw, Michigan. I am really just getting started back into sewing after many years. I used to make all my kids clothes and most of my own. My interest came back to me when my sister told me she had something of mine just before 2010 Christmas. It turned out to be my baby blanket quilt. OMG...It hit me like a rock. I suddenly knew that I should be sewing again. My heart just weep with joy.
I have so much to learn about quilting, embrodery, and sewing. I am open to any suggestions. Thank-you and have a great day.
Hi Audrey.. I've been quilting for 30+ years but only did an occassional one, like for youngest daughter before she was born and then for gkids as they came along. A lot of my quilts have gone to our kids and gkids, but I also make quilts for charity and have a growing collection of my own (mainly wall hangings that I just HAD to make/have).
I really got into quilting about 2003 and even more so about 2007 when I joined a local guild. I'm not crazy about piecing, but do it when needed; I enjoy machine applique' and paper piecing more than piecing blocks. I also belong to the Quilt with Us group(s) on the Connecting Threads website.
Audrey...if you are also on FB, please look me up there. There are two people with your name. I am trying to coordinate the block swap all from the smae place.
Thanks
