Hi Rhonda!

I used regular quilting thread.  For the heart quilt I'm using white.  I've never used invisible thread, but I'm sure if you did a google search, you'd get all kinds of info on it.  The only thing I know about it is that it's nylon.  Sorry I'm not more help.

Thanks for your compliment~

I love your wall quilt.  I actually have some of that fabric and was supposed to make myself a 50th birthday celebration quilt with it.  I am now heading to 52 LOL

Rhonda,

I certainly understand. My husband has been through back surgery 3 times. If your husband is like mine, don't expect to get much quilting done during his recovery. I'm only joking. Thank goodness  recovery doesn't take long or at least not as long as I expected. I hope the same is true with your husband. Good luck to you both.

Hello Ronda, Thank you so much for the nice compliment. My Mom did most of the peicing of this quilt and I did the quilting and binding, hence the name "Mom and ME". I would like to see your tablerunners. I have made pillows  and even a vest using the string method. In the vest I used only black and white fabric and it turned out very well I think.

Thanks again

You know, I think I may have changed my mind about finishing that quilt.  I may finish it to donate to the Quilter's Dream "Hopes and Dream Quilt Challenge for ALS".  Last year I donated two.  This is their second year and the quilt I'm making would be a good one to donate.  Here is the link in case you've not heard of it http://www.quiltersdreambatting.com/  I just need to put the borders on and then quilt it.  I was going to do some fancy quilting on it, but I think stitch in the ditch will be just fine.  I'll more likely finish it that way!

I can't wait to see your Dresden when it's finished!  That's my absolute favorite block!

You know, a lady just posted a bunch of her quilts and I felt so intimidated after viewing them all.  It makes me wonder if I'll ever get that good.  And many of hers are large!  I've made some larger ones, but it's too awkward for me to quilt them, so now I'd rather make smaller quilts for kids.  I just made a top and I realized that by the time I put the borders on it's going to be a full-size...now I'm not wanting to finish it.  It'll probably end up in my UFO box!

Woohoo! I'm working on machine quilting today! The Dresden top that I finished a few weeks ago is now under my machine needle!!! I very excited! Its working out fine! Looking good! Using silky brand invisible thread! So far all I've had to do is tighten my tension! The first few rows that I have sewn I rassled the quilt and the quilt won! I hurt in my shoulders and upper back so badly! Lol! Before I left my sewing room the other day, I made sure to roll my quilt properly and lay it put in a… Continue
