I am so upset - cut out blocks for quilt and have discovered that many of them are short. I don't know whether to go ahead and put blocks together and then cut them down to a smaller size, or go buy…Continue

I am ready to add the 2nd border on a quilt and boy oh boy, the quilt is really uneven. When I was taught to quilt (3 years ago) the gals told me that you don't square up a quilt until all the…Continue

I have a challenge which is rebinding an old quilt for a friend. My first thought was to just go over the original binding, or I have the choice of cutting it off at the seam. Have any of you done…Continue

Well, this is just driving me nuts. I am shocked at what I was told from an employee at a Sew and Vac store where I sent my Janome 4120 for repair. I have been quilting (STD) my daughter's lap…Continue

Marcia... what a wonderful surprise for you. I would be excited too.
So glad to meet you, Marcia. Quilter friends are the best friends to have.
One more thing. In case you didn't notice, when you are on the main newbie page you'll see four discussions, and at the bottom right of that section it says "more". There are several pages of discussions and you might find answers to any questions there.
Under the discussion section is a place for comments. I'm not really sure what that's for. I guess just to make a general comment instead of starting a discussion.
Have you tried posting your picture on your main page? That way everyone can see it who visits your page.
Hi Marcia! I can't believe you made those quilts so quickly! Quilting is totally addicting! I started about 6 years ago (a late bloomer; I'm 50) and I was hooked from the start. Right now though I'm going through a dry spell, so I'm really happy I have this site to come to for inspiration. When I first got here I was totally confused because I've never been on a site like it before, but after a few weeks I got used to the way things work. There is a place on your page to put a "blog post", which people use just to talk about whoever; not part of a discussion. I've done a few blog posts, but usually I spend my time on the groups so I can interact with others. If you have general newbie questions you can just go to the Newbie main page and "add discussion". If you have a question about this site, just ask and I'll answer as best as I can. I hope you'll enjoy it here as much as I do!
