I am a science teacher working with 5th and 6th graders. I have been quilting for 20 years and learned to sew when I was 9 years old. Just about anything involving fabric is my passion.

Why do you quilt?
For the pleasure it brings me watching the design come together. Quilts bring comfort to people and I give away many of my quilts to friends and family.

Here is a link to quilt shops in Washington and BC Canada.  Since the Seattle area has a lot of towns outside of the city, this search site is a good one because the shops are listed by city.

I used to live in the Seattle area.  Whenever I went to Pike Street I would make sure to wander through Undercover Quilts.  Nancy's Sewing basket used to be a fun shop, it is in the Queen Anne neighborhood.  For a large store, I would suggest Pacific Fabrics.  I just love the merchandising they do in there stores.  

It has been three years since I lived in Seattle so you may want to check web resources before heading out to these places.
