"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, or so they say. I just used some ugly fabric that had set on my shelves for years. Guess what? It is gorgeous in the quilt, it ended up being the thing that brought it all…"
"Barbara, that's quite a car. When I was very young, back in the olden days I went to demolition derbies. It was a lot of fun. I love your neighborhood, reminds me of where I grew up, same style of homes and lots of trees.

Tell us about yourself—as much or as little as you like.
I have been quilting for about 20 years, I am retired from hotel management. I have a lot of time on my hands, due to some health problems I am not as active as I once was. I do belong to my local guild, local Project Linus group and block of the month at my local quilt shop. I have 7 children, 16 grandchildren and 14 great grands. They keep me pretty busy making quilts, etc. None of them live near us so I do miss that. I love to see what other quilters are doing and I also like to do some swaps, thats always fun.
How many quilts have you made?
Lost count a long time ago
Do you want to make quilts, or simply enjoy them?
LOve making then and enjoy them both
How long have you been a quilter?
about 20 years
What is your favorite quilting technique?
I am a hand quilter, I enjoy traditional and historic best but have done some modern.
Why do you quilt?
Because I love to, it's my way of being creative and the people I give them to enjoy them and that gives me great satisfaction

Gail, feel free to take part in all the discussions. Sometime in January I will be asking to see who wants to participate next year. Then I send out questionnaires. Secret Santa sisters will be assigned usually in April. Then you have all year to work on things for your SS box. We mail them out around the first Saturday in December.
This year we had a couple of contests. There are discussions all year trying to find answers to questions that maybe weren't on the questionnaires. We post tutorials for gift ideas. We have general discussions too.
So welcome to the group. Take part so we can get to know you for next year!
