"Hi Everyone! I am machine quilting Visions of the Forest Quilt. Funny I gave it that name a while ago but the quilting will certainly reflect the condition of my eyes at the time. Hardly matters! I like working on it."
"Riana, my eye Dr. told me he knew when one of his lashes goes stray how it hurts so he could appreciate my pain. I hope that I can see the eye surgeon soon.
Meanwhile this morning I am sewing a border on Fun With Bricks, the Bonnie Hunter…"
"I had my appt. and he took pictures to show me that my lower lid is turning inward and about 20 lashes are scratching the cornea just like happened with the other eye, so he referred me to the eye surgeon who did the surgery on my eye the last…"
"Riana, the eye Dr. woke me this morning and wanted me in the office in 1/2 hour. He doesn't realize I live more than 1/2 hour from his office. I am going in at 11:15. Doug isn't keen on driving across town. I can…"
"Thank you for thinking about me in your prayers, Barbara. I took inspiration from your tackling the cleaning of your bedroom. We have a bank of closets between the ensuite and our bedroom and they could use some sorting and a cleaning of…"
"It hasn't snowed here yet either, Barbara. My daughter's property in B.C. has been a Winter Wonderland. She is further north and at a higher elevation.
My eye is a little better today. So I sewed this morning. All…"
"My eye has been hurting for ages. Finally today, it is so sore I can't read the newspaper nor sew. Monday I am making an appt. to see the eye Dr. and start from there. I think I need surgery like I had on my other eye. …"
"Yes, Barbara, You will just have to quilt all my quilts in Tiny Town! You wouldn't want to be in Ottawa right now. From what I see in the newspaper, most of the infections are in schools and in long term care homes. I used to think…"
"Barbara, too bad that you don't live in Ottawa. I could supply with you with lots of practice pieces. You would be a pro by the time you got to your quilts. LOL I have 3 quilt tops and backings languishing in my closet waiting…"
"Riana, you did so well with those placemats! They are so nice! I have been doing a lot of sewing lately. I have 15 6x21 sections to do for my Seeing Stars Quilt. And I cut the next day's sewing in the evening while…"
"Kris, I love mystery quilts! Your top is so beautiful! Riana, in mysteries, the instructions usually include colour recipe hints so you can't can't go too wrong about where the lts. meds. and darks should go.
Hubby and I…"
""Fun With Bricks" is ready to sew the rows together. I've made some more 6" blocks and worked on 2 12" scrappy pieced squares for backing. Surprising how time can fly! Going out for a walk this afternoon."
"Riana, that quilt looks lovely. Your quilting is so interesting. I haven't quilted since I messed up the sandwiching of Visions of the Forest. Yesterday I bought another $123. worth of food at M&M. Our little freezer…"
"OOH! Mary, looks like there is still a lot of work to do. I found a scrappy "Fun With Bricks" UFO yesterday. I had stopped at the point where I was sewing 20 blocks into rows 4x5. I don't even recognize some of the…"
"Thank you, Zoe. Deb Hathaway's article was inspiring. I copied out her 2 patterns for the Church Window Hex Quilt.
Today my goal is to clean the fridge because I am going to buy groceries tomorrow. I'll fit this chore…"
If you downloaded the pattern from her blog, it should be a file on your computer and you can just attach the file to an email. Otherwise, if you scan it to your computer, again it will have a file name and can be attached. I'm not in any hurry to start...so many other things to do and my good machine is in the shop. But thank you so much for helping me out!
The "wood grain" quilting sounds interesting, can't wait to see the whole quilt done.Remember l signed up for the free online longarm class? lt said for best results, use a computor ( instead of tablet etc.) , so l closed it, deciding to use computor later. Now it won't come up.l wonder if there was a time limit.l wish l'd taken it on the tablet, even if not as good as on computor.
Smart idea, about the mug rugs...l would never have thought of fabric gluing...l'd have probably gone to snipping/pulling out the poor handwork , washed & redone w/machine. Not likely a" profitable" use of time:)
