Tell us about yourself—as much or as little as you like.
American resident of Kenya, I hold advanced degrees in design and textiles. I teach online quilt classes for Academy of Quilting (https://www.academyofquilting.com). I teach design through symmetry, innovative quilting from built-up layers of improvisation, and art quilting from sketch to finished work, and my classes include the popular Darned Quilts, Math for Quilters and Bind Quilts by Machine. I cofounded the Kenya Quilt Guild and published articles about quilting for the KQG newsletter, SAQA’s Journal, Quiltposium, American Quilter, and The Quilt Life magazines, among others. I am a South African Quilt Guild certified quilt judge.

Why do you quilt?
I design my own, and I like to see the finished work. I love, then, to share with others what each experience has taught me about quilting and design.
