Put a few drops of oil on her and she sounded great. The lady that bought it was thrilled. It went to a good home. May just take the money I got for her and buy more fabric for another project...LOL. Just what I need, more fabric and another project. Did buy a new pattern this week. It will probably just…

Well, I got another project finished...the Challenge Vest I have been working on since June. It is ready to show at my Guild meeting in October and put in our quilt show in November. I am so glad it is completed. It wasn't all that difficult, but I kept procrastinating.

Gonna have some fun...

Well I will be heading for home in the morning and then putting all of my stuff together for Summer Camp. The project is newly published by a local store owner so it will be something I have never done. Fabric is all cut and ready to put together. Just have to collect my supplies. Should be a fun weekend with ladies from my Guild. Also going to get a ton of fabric, Fossil Ferns and Batiks, to work on all of the Judy Niemeyer patterns I have...9 so far. Love Judy's work.

Usually for my birthday I like to go to my favorite steak restaurant and to the quilt shop. I'm not happy unless I spend money at the quilt shop! I would like to splurge and play a little video poker; not so sure about that though! Just thought I might get lucky since it's my b-day! I sure wouldn't mind getting a featherweight. I don't need it in the least, but they are just too cute! Plus, I want to be in on the fad (I'm not usually like that, but for some reason I would hate missing out on this one!). I want to get one that's painted metallic purple, but it is refurbished and will cost about $1800, which I don't have at the moment. So...dinner and fabric will have to do!
I'm frustrated because I downloaded IE9 and now I'm having computer problems and problems with this site; the webmaster here said it's from the IE9, so I guess I'll uninstall it and hope for the best.
As far as the doctor goes, I was going to my regular physician for a couple of years and felt like I was going nowhere. I finally found a pain management specialist and had lots of tests done...I also have physical therapy and medications. I'm in a very small town and I've never trusted the healthcare around here. The closest city is over 2 hours away, which is real pain just to go to the doctor! At least I have an excellent dentist here!
Well, I suppose I'll close for now. Hope you have a good week; I need to catch up on housework-yuck!

I'm glad to hear you had a nice birthday! I'm turning 50 this week, so I'm planning on ignoring the day. I didn't think turning 50 would bother me, but I have several health problems, so I feel much older than I am. I may go fabric shopping; that's usually what I do on my birthday. I went shopping Friday with a friend that I met on this site. We had a lot of fun. We actually went to two different shops. Have you ever met anyone in person that you met on-line?
Well, I guess I'll get going; I wasn't here much yesterday and I had written to a lot of people...then they all wrote back, so I'm playing catch-up!
Hope you have a great week!

Hi Christine!  Thanks for adding me as a friend.  Isn't this place great?  I've been here for a few months now and I just love it!  Everyone has been so helpful.

I'm so excited because today I'm going to meet someone who I met here.  She lives a few hours away from me, but she has a beach house in a town that's not too far from me.  It's funny that I don't know any quilters in my area, yet I get to meet someone I met on-line.  We'll be meeting at a quilt shop, of course!

Anyway, it's nice getting to know you and thanks again for adding me as a friend!

Do what you can, you'll get it all done eventually.  If I push too hard to accomplish something when I'm not feeling great, I end up regretting it anyway.  You can make up the lost time on a day you are feeling super good!   Clear blue skies and temps in mid-90's downstate.  It is a gorgeous day here.

Hello again!  I'm having so much fun here meeting new people!  I do wish I knew some in real life though!  It would be nice to have someone to go fabric shopping with!

The only dog we now have is a beagle; Mackenzie.  We've had three other dogs in the past and Mackenzie is the first one we got from a shelter.  She is a very high maintenance dog!  Apparently she was extremely abused and her personality shows it.  She does love people once she gets to know them.  She was a mean little dog when we first got her and I debated taking her back, but I just couldn't.  Luckily she's a bit more calm now.

I so wish I could take a quilt class some day!  There just isn't anything in my area.  I had thought about taking one on-line through Quilt University.  I've heard that's a pretty good one.  It's just not the same though, I'm sure!  I've taught myself everything I know from the beginning (I never learned to sew and my first quilt was my first experience with a sewing machine) using books and the internet.  After I finished that first one I was hooked!  I didn't know a thing about fabric or thread and luckily I learned right away to only buy high quality.  We have a Joann's here, but I don't buy fabric from them; there is a wonderful quilt shop about an hour away from me.  I hope your class goes well!  I've heard that a person learns a lot by teaching.

Thank you for the comment about my color choices.  I've have people say I have a good eye for color; I never understand when quilters say they can't choose colors.  I guess it's just my background with that box of 64 crayons!

I was a bookkeeper for about 25 years.  Supposedly I'm a people person, but I just loved being a bookkeeper and keeping to myself to focus on my work.  It was fun for me.   Someone here said I look like I'd have been a nurse, which I thought was kind of funny since both my mom and grandmother were nurses.  I broke the family chain!

My sister loves Albuquerque, but she is having difficulty with the smoke; she has breast cancer and is going through her chemo treatments, so it's kind of hard on her right now.  I just want to be someplace warm!  We have a quite a wait though...I retired when I was 45 and we're now 50, so it's going to be a long time before I get to move anywhere!

My husband is from Hawaii and he moved to Oregon when he was 19; we got married when we were 22 and moved there about 6 months later.  We were there for 1 1/2 years, but I hated it.  I fell in love with it when we went on our Honeymoon, but it's a totally different story living there.  I felt like I was living in a foreign country.  But I did love the climate!  I had a job offer in Dallas, so we jumped at the opportunity to get off the island.  I felt trapped after about 6 months of living there.  I had never been to Texas and I ended up loving it!

Happy anniversary!  Ours is in August.  I'm hoping to go on an Alaskan cruise for our 30th.

Even though we could never have kids we still celebrate Mother's and Father's Day...our dog has a gift and card for her daddy!  Brian and I both lost our fathers during the past few years, so that's kind of hard.  Anyway, I hope you have a nice day!

"No" to everyone you mentioned.  Do you know any Rabideau's?  Lots of my cousins live around GR, though we are not from that part of Michigan originally.  When you said you were from the "west side" did you mean GR or Detroit?   We used to talk about our relatives that way...so and so from East side, or West side..... but it was Detroit.

Happy anniversary tomorrow!
