The Eyes Have It

"A lovely piece. This method intrigues me, as l'm getting more nd more drawn to thread painting and the like. Do you use a hoop under the machine or stabilize and hold using fingers to keep flat?"

needlepoint cats_1

The cats are based on a needlepoint by Patt and Lee Designs. I paper pieced the cats separately and then appliqued them to the background.

Profile Information

Tell us about yourself—as much or as little as you like.
I love to make things, especially with fabric and beads. During the day I work with Native students and their families and have been learning much about Native arts as well. I get lots of inspiration from the Pacific Northwest where I live (almost all my quilts are nature-inspired), and from the cultures I work with.
How many quilts have you made?
Best guess - 60? (mostly wall hanging size)
Do you want to make quilts, or simply enjoy them?
Both!
How long have you been a quilter?
20 years
What is your favorite quilting technique?
Currently it's paper piecing.
Why do you quilt?
For the joy of creating. It's a compulsion to craft art of some kind.
Do you have a website?
