thank you Kris, some of the quilts on my page is of the local quilt shows.
i love the hand quilting but the older i get i am loosing my ability to do it. I've worked in a meat arket for many years and the hard work, tough, heavy boxes and cold air has given my arthritis in my fingers. makes it difficult at times to hand sew. but still do it as much as possible.
I am happy to read about your many quilts and experiences. I am new to quilting and looking forward to making my first quilt. My sister started one for me about two years ago, so she gave it to me and said I should complete it. I figure this will ensure I really want to quilt before I buy a new quilting machine. Strictly a theory of course. I love sewing and quilting is just another avenue of expression.
Love your tent poles. We used to live in Lake Arrowhead, and so went to the one that moved from above L.A. to San Bernardino. We competed dressed as nobles and got honorable mention. Not bad, as the other folk used Hollywood costumers. I spent $100. on materials for both of us-mostly at thrift stores.
My sister and I are ridiculously proud of being 1/2 Norwegian, so she attended a Viking Fair in San Diego a year or so ago. She reported a grand time, if sometimes rowdy.
Went to a Celtic Faire in N. Calif. two weeks ago. My grandson(who had been presented at Mary, Queen of Scots Court) was captured by the Vikings(Dark Boar Clan??). GS now wants to join their Clan. They were definitely having the most fun.
delighted to meet you & be listed as among your friends. love your fun quilts! am not sure what being "in a viking clan" means. i am an avid fan of all things history. actually, viking history has been a fascination since childhood reads. have been to a few ren fairs when i lived in sf bay area, tho they were midieval in focus. so now they have viking ren fairs ?!?!? whoa! now that would be a whole 'nother world of fun
