Hey there Garnie...how are things going on your end? I have been having those days where I can't seem to find any energy.....but I'm working on my projects slowly but surely. I hope your doing ok. big hugs girl.
Garnie, I don't know if you got my message that Bridget forwarded, because she had e-mailed me....I have been very ill for the past 2 months which is why no-one has heard from me, and it also is the reason why I was unable to participate in the swaps that I had signed up for. I am so terribly sorry. I hope that you guys will forgive me for not giving you advance notice. Also, I'm not sure how much I'm going to be able to participate for the next few months, we'll see. I was finally accepted by the University of Minnesota Neurology Department and they are planning on running a bunch of different tests in the next couple of months to decide if the next step should be surgery or just continue to follow everything with pain meds. Thanks for your time! So, I will try to keep you posted, as much as I can.
So thank you very much for posting the directions for the Christmas fabric swap! But I was thinking you should add another rule to the fine print!! Person responsible for Swapping fabrics should not be on pain pills or alcohol at the time he/she is sortying fabric!!! LOL Just kidding You never know who is going to end up with extra fabric!!! LOL.
You Rock Garnie!!!!!! I can't wait to try to find more Christmas fabric it is my favorite time of the year! I promise that I will be nice and keep the Bah Humbug fabric home! LOL
I'm really glad to know that everyone followed the fabric quality rules...I've heard from a few of the swappers and they told me that got wonderful fabrics. So I was pleased about that! I'm not interested in Christmas fabrics, so I'll pass on that one. I have some, but I just never get around to using them! I don't like batiks either, so I won't be doing that swap, and as far as handbags go...well, I don't know how to sew, so I'm out on that one too!
Anyway, I'm really glad you're taking on these swaps! You seem very organized!
Hey Garnie, I just noticed you're picture...did you make that by hand??? Amazing!
By the way, I have a question. I'm wondering how the swap went...did anyone send in poor quality fabric? I really hate to miss out on swapping, but with the patriotic swap I ended up giving away 1/2 of what I got. So I'm wondering if everyone read you post about fabric quality. I hope so!
Hi Garnie- I've been thinking of you.& the Tuxedo blocks. Yes, I've sent out 15 so far. Hope to get to the rest this week. I've received two that are really nice. How are you doing? If you are doing them all by hand, it's going to take a lot of time, isn't it? Oh, the ones I've received were sent in business size envelopes between paper. That might be the cheapest way to send them. This is going to be a Big colorful quilt for sure. Hope it's going well for you.
Well, you shouldn't pick last - you do all of the work, you should at least be able to pick in the middle. I'm happy no matter what I get, so if you want to put me last and you can pick second from last I would be ok with that too. I just got my chickens back from an applique chicken swap that I just finished also, boy was that fun. I received some very cool chickens. I can't wait to see my fat quarters and then I have a mystery block exchange that I'm working on, besides my United States Quilt Block Collection. Trying to keep busy and I am definitely succeeding. LOL Thanks for all your hard work - glad I was able to give you a good laugh. Have fun with all that fabric.
Just make sure you send them back - LOL! I can just picture it now, Garnie opens up all the packages and just like those scenes from old movies with all the money, she throws all the FQ's on the bed and rolls around and says, "Mine all Mine!!" hahaha, I just realized that even though there are hard parts to being in charge of exchanges there are some perks too. You get to see all the fabric or blocks, etc before anyone else does. You get to decide who gets what, including yourself, which means, you get to pick the coolest stuff first!!! :) Wow, I might have to pick up on this job. Just kidding Garnie, I know how much time and effort you have put into this and we all appreciate it and for that you DO deserve to get first choice. Looking forward to seeing the pictures of all that fabric and also the package in the mail. (If you haven't decided to keep mine for being so mean!) LOL
