Hi, Barbara! I have been hibernating early, I guess. I had so much to do on the Halloween swap that I stopped reading daily to give me more time. Then one thing led to another and I just never got back to daily reading here. I am one of the presidents of our guild and that has taken more time, I travelled to CA and NJ in Sept. After a retreat in Nebraska I became even more enamored of hand piecing and have three new hand projects in the works. Having fun, but kind of neglecting my new friends here.
I really like the dog puppet. How long has it been here? What have you been up to?

Wow, Barbara...thanks for spending the time...l must have about 150 photos by now! When it's not nice enough to be outside, l love spending a" few minutes " down in my sewing room, only to discover it was a few HOURS when l get back to "reality" :)

Barbara, if you mean the quilted car, it was at the Sisters quilt show last summer.  Pretty fun.

Thank you, Barbara!  I'm having a lot of fun, playing with the pieces for this Stack 'N Whack Star quilt.  I can't wait to see how it turns out.  Have a super day!

a belated thank you for your holiday wishes. i hope your christmas was wonderful! my son is a computer software writer and he, his wife, her mother are always w their heads down w their electronic toys. so, when i visit my girls i try to avoid the ipad except for taking pictures of them and their drawings, fun play etc. ergo, i missed your note. apologies.

hope to see you around the site here...

Barbara, that red's NOT going to stop bleeding out soon. Your best hope is to wash the top only with a couple of those color catchers that they sell now-a-days. Don't put any more work into it until it's stable...l learned the hard way w/navy quilt. You couldn't even sit if you were sweaty!

i agree with you totally. there is nothing we can do, prepare as we can...but like you say, we just need to be ready for whatever is coming. my computer skills are on the wane :)). i don't spend anywhere near the amount of time online as i used to. reading, learning, downloading new tools, apps etc. life passes by so much more rapidly when my nose is glued to a screen. same for tv. tho i have never been one for tv. didn't own one till hubs moved in after we got married. a tv followed him not long after. his dad just could not stand the thought of a house w/o a tv! :))

google chrome is a browser. my son says it is the best one currently available. i guess it is alao part of os pkg now w new pc's. dunno. servers are another story. we have no choice. server isp is where we live. we can't pic & choose. even military folks have no choice except to go thru the military servers and all that goes w military security. whatever.

i need to get moving here, so cold & grey here, i just want to curl up and read w my eyes closed. winter is hard for me, i am an outdoor person and as time goes on i am less & less enthusiastic to don winter gear and go traipsing around outside on my little "walks" :)) we have a few acres and all scenic view... but i am getting too lazy to enjoy it. so...since i need to move i guess i will start in on the mega house cleaning i need to do before mil comes to stay for a few after our trip to oregon where we will celebrate christmas w son and my two beautiful little grand treasures!! yaaaayyyyy!!!

hope you have a wonderful christmas with your family & friends too!

Merry Christmas ...your rogue friend :))

unless you mean Chrome, Google is not a browser. it is, or started out as, a search engine. a type of search engine that used to referred to as a spider or crawler. of course now that Google in still charging onward in their quest for world domination, especially with their most recent robotics firm buy- out ahem...sorry. didn't meant to get on my anti-google soap box lollol but i like to help, and if i have the knowledge then i also like to share. so...i will do some photo posting blogging etc after the holidays are over. will be on pc tomorrow, but just to empty cams for our trip down to spend christmas w my two darlin' grtreasures. and their daddy of course, my beloved son. whom i thank for any pc skills i have. he made me learn, i made me read - so that i could understand what he was talking about. now i couldn't live w/o a pc, an ipad or being able to read, research & visit online.

glad you found it useful. the posting of pics here on mqp is not an easy task. but the site is free, so i try not to complain. too much :))

i wrote an extensive illustrated discussion on posting pice last winter. couldn't get the pics to post in a discussion format. have it in a file on my pc, just need to find the time to get ON pc and try to post again. will probably try the blog interface this time as i have had no trouble posting tutes or sillyness there. the formating of the blog thingy here is twitchy too, but at least i can get things to load. so..give me a little time and i will get the pic thing posted for you & all the others who have asked.

browser note: i don't know what browser you are using, but i have had more than one member find that mqp is not compatible w some versions of Internet Explorer. so, when posting pic, editing pics...and difficulties arise, try a different browser. i can help you w that too. changing browsers now is uber simple compared to a few years ago.

off to lala land now..we get up early...so g'night and take care!
