Good luck with the bus. Know what you mean about investing ton of money but we all need a hobby we enjoy. I have not had much luck with selling things I have made since I quit going to fairs. But even then the expense of going to fairs and material to make stuff was not good. Dh supports my hobby and family help a little.
Worked with the Busy Bees quilt group in Monticello GA for 10 yrs. they donate to Project Linus the Middle Ga. chapter. Several middle GA counties in the group and they have donated over 6000 comfort blankets.
All my immediate family have quilts as well as aprons and lot of other handmade items in their homes. I make most gifts to the family. The young ones especially love the quilts. Nieces have put up quilts their children used as babies to pass on to the next generation. That is neat. Be sure and label your work, the family enjoy looking at the label yrs later and saying gee can't believe this quilt is that old.
Some have come to me as much as 10 yrs later wanting their first quilt mended. Can't talk them into a new one to replace the worn one. They always want the new and the old one fixed.

Good morning QuilterBridget. Just read on another post that you live in Seaside, OR. Small town, no groups or guilds. I live in Corvallis and have found a wonderful group to be a part of. Hope you have found someone to share your love/passion of quilting with.
Hello QuilterBridget!!! I know it has been awhile since Ilast chatted with you. Hope all is good with you. I've been busy these past few years. Joined a quilters group, and have been quilting up a storm. lol The weather here in PA has been nice and warm , the leaves are changing. I hope our Fall stays for awhile. Please keep in touch, would love to hear from you..
Sorry it took so long to get back here. I love practicing my long arm and quilting techniques and I watch a lot of youtube. There are a lot of wonderful sites out there.
This is the first time I checked back in at all, and I saw your comments. I am sorry about answering so late, and also that your dream of having children didn't happen. I never thought I'd get married, and then when I did I think my folks flipped as they were in their 70s! I am not a youngster, older that you I'm sure, and I won't stop working for at least 5 years. My daughters are back and forth from living here to moving on so I don't have a room of my own. But I bought an antique dresser 30 years ago and it's full of these baby clothes scraps which I'm sewing together and crazy quilting. I'll be at this project for years! This is because my mom, who was a Depression child, never had nice clothes. So her granddaughters had satins, silks, velour, and a rainbow of pink and purples.
I love the fabrics and the stuff is not only all I have left of their babyhood, it's one of the things my mother gave them. She's been gone ten years and it's tough. So if I quilt the fabric together, they'll have the memories even longer. Best wishes, Judy
Bridget, Are you going to email me. I really do miss talking with you. I too have been having a bad time lately. My super company refusing my application to get money out. So I've missed out on getting my new quilting machine and getting my gopher fixed too. Worse thing also my computer died . Thank the goodness for my best friend in Sydney she came up with an old computer and sent it to me. XP Professional. I am hoping it will last out now until I can afford to buy a new one. Please let me know how you are going Julie Beard.
Hi Bridget, I hope things are going well for you. We have been on a dead run, since my father passed away on April 29th, that was a hard day, but a blessing, too, as he was suffering, and it was nice that he doesn't have to suffer any longer. I am hoping to get back to sewing myself, as soon as I can. Take care, Carolyn
Bridget, I am so sorry for not answering back. On the 23 (my birthday) I got my left knee replaced. Really haven't been on the net too much, or quilting at all for that matter. Again, I am so sorry and thank you for the wishes!
