ok, about 6-7 yrs ago when I really got into quilting, my first finished quilt was a simple rail fence. so my stepdaughters, younger teens at the time, wanted to do their own too.....well that didn't last long, so i am the inheritor of the unpieced fabric...lots of 1 1/2 inch strips about a foot long. i saw the jelly roll race on youtube and wanted to do one but as we all know, jelly rolls can be pricy (which is why I snatched up what I found at WM yesterday!!), so figured I'd have to wait for a real good coupon or sale first.

Then I pulled out oldest SD's bag of unused strips and had a light bulb go off--let's do something similar with these strips. And after 2 weeks (keep in mind I work full time, plus made two trips to PA for Easter weekend due to college son wanting to be home for holiday, plus holiday, plus daughter's softball games/practices, and middle son's orchestra etc), I got it done tonight......Lordamercy.......but it turned out real neat, even with having to piece the little strips in one long chain and nearly pulling my hair out over it until about 2pm today, when it all clicked together...now I can';t wait to find the other SD's similar bag and do hers the same way....I will post pics, I swear, but must go shower and go to bed, work tomorrow, and very busy week ahead.....

O'my...your week sounds like mine used to be, run, run, run.   I have to admit I don't really miss it that much.  But then again sometimes I do.  Can't wait to see the pics of your quilt (when you have time to do it, LOL)
