Inspiring Quilters, Stitch by Stitch
It was a long winter for me but I did finish 2 ufos one I started in 2004 and my little brown bird quilt. it took me a year to do, almost 1000 one inch leaves in the border. so it is at the quilters. cant wait to see it quilted. my long arm quilter is a ski instructor and snow on Mt. Hood than usually so she went skiing and fell and broke her arm. she is just out of her cast. but anxious to do the quilt. What a hated it by the time I finished it. But I have one ahead it is a scrappy courthouse steps and then I added appliqued purple morning glorys on the sides and is set with a black border. The other quilt I finished is a quilt I started in 2004 It was a series quilt in McCalls magazine applqued sampler set with 2 inch scrap blocks. I started it before I moved lost the pattern finally found the pattern on sale on line. bought it and had lost the blocks. so I now have part of a set of blocks and I finished the quilt. it is at the quilters also so now I only have 7 ufos to finish and my new quilt project I have 4 log cabins started. for gifts. I have such a stash of scraps. I am trying to use them and not buy any fabric for a while. ,I love to paper piece log cabins they are so accrate and mindless to sew I try to do a couple of pieced quilts after I finish a difficult applique quilt. like it cleanses the palate for the next one.
I had a difficult winter with lung problems always seems to come pneumonia cant spell so was very sick for awhile and you want to stay away from other people because you don't want to get their germs and get sick again. It is a beautiful summer day here has been very hot but we are suppose to get rain soon. this is a log post so will shut up glad to be able to catch up and see what everyone is doing. have a blessed quilting day Dottie
