Inspiring Quilters, Stitch by Stitch
I’m a little sad and a little happy this week. Happy because we are celebrating Elaine Wilson’s 20th year with AQS. And sad because we have to say goodbye to Tracey Pegram.
Elaine is a very gifted lady. She can design anything out of nothing. She has worked on over 100 books for AQS over the years. One of the extra jobs she excelled at was creating the display for the Hobbs Fashion Show each year in the Paducah shows. Although she said she struggled to come up with new themes each year, you couldn't tell it from the displays. Always timely, always professional, always fun. Elaine‘s creative talents are also used when we need set up shots for our projects. Her attention to the finest of details is amazing. I enjoy working with Elaine and I am very happy she has stayed here for 20 years. Hope she stays for another 20.
Tracey has been an editorial assistant here for 3 years. Her organizational skills are phenomenal and so necessary in her position. She has taken care of all the quilts that are shipped to us for photography whether for books or magazine. She handles all the quilts with the greatest of care so no one has to worry about their “baby” while it is with us. If you have attended a lecture at any of our shows, you probably saw Tracey. She was the pretty blonde with the dazzling smile that greeted you at the door of the lecture hall. Tracey’s smile and sense of humor will be missed. I wish her continued blessings in this new chapter of her life.
So that’s why I’m a little happy and a little sad; taking the good with the bad. Thankful for everything.
