Inspiring Quilters, Stitch by Stitch
I have many many project going this summer. Learning some new things and getting ready for my fall classes. I am learning how easy it is to get distracted by friends and such. I have a lot of work to do and my time is precious. Gotta get organized so I can still enjoy the summer heat. I hope to finish 5 quilts, three bags and some other smaller project by September. Wish me luck :-)

Hello Ladies, so I have put a significant dent in my summer sewing projects I have finished three bags (Amy Butler's Birdie sling, Frenchy shoulder and Frenchy handbag. I finished three quilt tops Rows of Bricks (from Skip the Borders book), Inversion and Brownstone). I am working on the last two, Knotted Squares (from the Modern Basics book) and a quilt as you go T-shirt quilt. I will finish Knotted Squares this week and work on my T-shirt QAYA for the remainder of the summer. Phew, that was a lot of work in between bouts of no motivation (the summer sun was just too distracting), but I'm getting it done.
Wow...you are ambitious. I am too, in theory. But here I am in bed writing blog posts instead of sewing lol.
Are you thinking of five full-sized quilts? Are they gifts you are trying to finish?
LOL Brenda, I have a medal sewing guide and can see how it could be viewed as a weird screwdriver. Your workshop sounds like a lot of fun. I love using all the stitches and feet on my machine. It opens up so many new and exciting possibilities. Have fun!!
Oh, Brenda, I can SO relate...........I have no idea about all the feet and tools that belong to my machine. Sometimes I fantasize about all the wonderful things I could do if I knew exactly how to use all those feet.
You have only 5 projects to finish - I wish I were so lucky! My list continues to grow. And if I organize myself and sewing room, I find more ideas or UFOs. Yikes!
I am taking a workshop, to make a quilt, but the thrust of the workshop is to learn to use all the feet, tools and stitches on my machine. So far, I have discovered that a little metal piece which I thought must be some sort of screwdriver, has in reality turned out to be a sewing guide! Love it!
Luck!!
