I have a quiltig friend in Finland. We have  never  met in person, but we are keeping in touch by email. I met her on line several years ago when I was looking for quilting information from Europe to add to our guild's newsletter. At one time we both made the same quilt, a wall quilt with Canadian motives (moose, cottage, lake, bear, etc.) and we exchanged the photos. That was fun and interesting.

Maarit seems to be quilting all the time when you see all the things she makes. Visit her blog if you are interested: http://tilkkis.vuodatus.net/

In most of Europe, except perhaps for England, quilt shops and fabrics are not so abundant as they are here in North America. But quilting is becoming more popular though with many good artists.

Have a great day,

Hi and thanks for your message. I hope you will be able to go to Holland one day to meet your friend.

Quilting is truly international and perhaps it can bring the different cultures around the world just a little bit more together in a peaceful way.
