Inspiring Quilters, Stitch by Stitch
Hi Everyone, this is the quilt that my friend's niece's quilt guild entered in the Houston Quilt show. They won first place in the APQS sponsered category. This is the second quilt they have entered with their guild that won.

oh Rogue you are so funny.
Ok, I found out that they are a group within the guild. There are about 12 ladies in this group. They were featured in a quilt show at the Pine Needles Quilt Shop in Oswego Oregon. The portrait quilt was made in 2008 and has won several awards since then. The animal quilt was completed in 2010 and has won several awards. The latest being this year at the international quilt show in houston. They won $1000 for their category. So Ladies I guess that we could do it too. Maybe next year huh?
I am not sure of the size of the guild. I went with her aunt to their quilt show last year at he boistfort grange. They had bothof these quilts hanging. They do alot of traditional quilts and some modern applique but they have a group of ladies that always work together on the collaboration quilt. They vote on a theme and then decide how to do the patterns. Phyllis (my friends niece) told me that they take photos and then blow them up in gray scale and then choose the colors to acchieve the realism. It is hard to see all of the intricacies but the lady who quilted it quilted in a honeycomb design that she enlarged which gives it the look of chicken wire.
Fantastic applique work!
that is really neat. love the eieio at the top.
This is the quilt they won with last year.
