Inspiring Quilters, Stitch by Stitch
I just got back from a trip home to Boston. While there I gave my best friend Addie a quilt for her 24th birthday. She was ecstatic! She kept going on about how it was the best present ever, and how no quilt could ever say "Addie" as much as the quilt I made her did. I chose her favorite colors and lots of fabric with polka dots, which she loves. Her boyfriend's mom is a quilter, and she has apparently been dropping hints that she wanted one of her own. I had no idea! I beat her to it:)
I made my little sister Maisy a quilt about a year and a half ago, and she always talks about how much she loves it. But this trip home she mentioned that there was ever a fire in the house, the one thing she would save would be her quilt! It's always great to get such positive feedback. I've been really busy recently and not quilting at all in my free time, but I'm hoping to pick up the pace and start getting out more gifts!

Everyone loves a quilt because quilts are hugs that keep hugging : )
I used to think that only older people or a new mom would like a quilt, but lately I see that young people graduating from school or going off the college also enjoy the gift of a quilt. We just came home yesterday from Boston too. We were there for the graduation of our youngest granddaughter.
That's awesome, as a quilter I know how great it feels when you make something for someone you love and they are truly happy to receive it. Makes your whole year just about.
