Hello everyone, just thought I would introduce myself. I am Leann Summers from Lakebay Wa. Evergreen State, where we rust, not tan! LOL. Trying to get back into the swing of quilting again. I started when I was alot younger. But then life got in the way, and took another road. But I have plenty of time now, and wanting to soak up as much as I can about all types of quilting. That is what I am hoping I can learn from this Blog! I am 58 soon to be 59. Married with one son. No Grandchildren, probably never will be. He is too career minded. He is almost 40. But I have alot of Nieces and Nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. My husband is the oldest of nine siblings. Plenty of children to make quilts for!

so glad you have something to keep you busy and you don't just sit around and be depressed about your situation.   what would I look under in ebay to see your product??   My daughter sold a couple things on ebay, but she switched over to etsy, I think she said  it was cheaper.

Yes I embroider Quilt blocks and sell them on Ebay. Keeps me busy and out of trouble! LOL. I am Disabled, and forced into early retirement. To young to retire, so I have to keep busy. So while the brother PR 620 6 needle is at work, I sit and quilt. Hubby is a over the road trucker and gone during the week. So I have the place all to myself. So I play with my toys. LOL

you do embroidery for other people??   that's pretty neat!   I am working on a panel right now, just basic embroidery.   I hadn't done any for a long time and it's fun to pick it up again.   After I get the panel done, I want to incorporate it into a quilt top.   The embroidery patter is 6 little flower baskets, so of course I'm thinking maybe a basket quilt.

Nice to know there still might be hope for Grandkids! Got my sights set on French Braid Quilts for right now. I figured they would be a simple start to getting my feet wet again. First project is a couple of Log cabin table runners. Then I am going to get started on the Quilt. I am still acquiring all the jelly rolls I want for what I want to do. Figure I'll have plenty of stash left over to start another project. Following Jane Hardy Miller's book on "French Braid Quilts". Embroidery is kinda slow right now, so I figure I can do a jump start on Christmas. Last year, around the holidays, I was slamed with orders, and was not able to get anything done for personal. So I am hoping to accomplish something this year!

Hi Leann, welcome!   Glad you got back into the quilting world.   I know what you mean though about life getting in the way sometimes.   I'm newly retired and I'm not sure where the days go!!   I thought I would have lots of time to sit around and do nothing and probably get BORED, but it doesn't happen.   I love to quilt, and go to quilt shows and look at all the pictures that everyone posts.   Looking forward to seeing some of your projects.   (by the way, don't give up on having grandkids, my daughter was in her 30's before she had children and now she has 3 wonderful children)
