I just came home from Virginia Beach. Just me and the kids. We left the hubby at home. It was a very last minute trip. My Dad has a time share there and at the last minute couldn't use it. I love that I am a stay at home Mommy and could go!

While we were there, they were having their annual art show right on the Boardwalk! It was amazing! I was slightly disappointed that there was not a single quilter. Lots of clothing but no quilts. It seemed wrong somehow. Come on ladies (and gents) whose with me? Next year let's have a quilter at the Virginia Beach Art Show!

I'm planning to check on some craft shows here in Atlanta and see how many quilters are displayed.  I like to check out the competition first.  But isn't it amazing how when you get an idea, someone always seem to read your mind and the year you decide to sell your quilts there are 3 or 4 more there?  Keep your thoughts silent, ladies, even if they aren't spoken.

I live in a small beach town and the first Saturday of each month they have an "Art Walk"...art and wine tasting.  One place asked me to display my quilts a few years ago and it was kind of fun...that was the first time I ever had anything on display.  I sold a few wall hangings and that's when I decided to do my first gift show.  Anyway, rarely do you see quilts here.  There are very few quilters in my area.  At the gift fair there is a lady who sells quilted pot holders, placemats and an occasional quilt, but that's it.  Jewelry seems to be the most popular item around here.

Welcome Quilters!
