Wow I am sure that I am not the only one who has been busy the last couple of weeks.  Last weeks installment of Easy street I did not even start until Thursday morning, while I tried to join the Linky Party to post my progress it was not working.  Oh well here is my part 4 or look at my older posts regarding my part 4 Easy Street.

Today I completed my last Christmas gift to make for immediate family who reside nearby.  Sewing, unsewing several times, and finally completing the name on a stocking, filling stockings.  Yeah!

Anyway I had some time so I started working on week 5 of Easy Street.  I completed a few.  Hopefully tomorrow I have some "me" time to work on them some more before we have to start out to deliver gifts.

8 down and 56 more to go.  :O  Merry Christmas Everyone.

awsome! love the kitting and donating. i brought home fron our thanksgiving trip part of fils' wifes' fabric...i will be helping him go thru books, fabric etc. all washed folded and donated. she was a beautiful seamstress before she became so lost to dementia. loved her dearly, she taught me some great knitting tricks, she loved the quilts i made for them and when my son was small, she made incredible little outfits for him. i am doing with her sewing joys what i believe she would approve.

Rogue I was very good when I was at Fabric Depot.  i bought several Batiks for the strip swaps but otherwise there was nothing that I could not live without.  On the other hand I did have to mail this home to me.

Yes this is a box which is 20X20X20 and weighed about 35 lbs.  I waded through 21 totes of fabric which were given to my mother and sister by my aunt several years ago.  There were 10 totes alone that were Christmas Fabric only.   My mother and sister had plenty of time to pick through the boxes so it was my turn.  I found some lovely homespuns, tons of florals, and holiday.  Also while going through all the totes I found 8 different baby quilts which had been all cut out but never sewn together.  I kitted them up and donated them to a group to finish and donate.

I keep seeing people who have their easy street completed and I am envious.  This is as far as mine has gotten.  I am waiting for stash enhancement supplies (fabric for the borders, and the backing).  This is a very substantial quilt, and I was truly tickled when my DH said he actually really liked it.

I am sorry to say this is almost the end of the Easy street .

don't worry about the size. when you upload..just click anywherebon pic, a frame appears. click on any corner and drag inward to reduce the size. some sites load huge pics as uploaded. & it takes forever for a page to load. My Quilt Place has things done differently. taking into acouunt, it would seem, that not all of us are familiar w uploading images to a web site. this came out great. and now i see what you mean about the black & white. heavy with graphics. might have been better with muted blenders or batiks in those areas. the green w the black and white tho. i can see why you went this way.

anyway...have a great weekend. maybe someone will have some excellent suggestion on this.

I have done several of Bonnie's quilts -(need to get rid of stash, etc.)  I believe that after this quilt, I have decided that I really like getting rid of many pieces within the blocks, but the quilts that I did like, I stuck with ONE background fabric.  I may actually do this quilt again (I love the colors), but I will choose a very pale lavender, or pale blue (like a sky) or even a pure white for all of the background pieces.  I will post the blocks, and perhaps the quilt after my retreat.  I just think that the black/white ended up being way too busy for me.
