Inspiring Quilters, Stitch by Stitch
This is the sketch my daughter did for her first quilt, aka "The Burrito Quilt" (she wants to make a quilt big enough to wrap herself up in as if she's a burrito). It's is shades of blues and purples, with the very lightest being a minty color.
It's going to be 76 in. x 84 in. (or 19 x 21, 4 in. sq.)
We tweaked the dimensions slightly so that we could get it centered well.
She's got most of the fabric chosen. She's using some of my wedding fabric (I made my bridesmaids' dressed out of a purple cotton calico.) as the medium purple and another purple from my stash as the light purple. We picked out all the other fabrics, except the minty color over the last couple of days at three different localish fabric shops (two quilt stores, and Joann's). We'll hit a third LQS on Tues. after school in hopes of finding the remaining color.
She's picked an interesting range of patterns, everything from tone on tone with sparkles to calico, as well as a large print, all of which go really well together. She has a great eye for color!
So, as soon as we find the last fabric, it'll be time to wash and iron them all and hopefully within the week we'll start getting squares cut out!
