I am new to this group and loving it! Just want to share my story about my quilt " Bleeding Heart of Hope". I entered a contest that was called " Around the World". We were given the pattern of large blocks that go around. You were told to embellish . I made my quilt using off white blocks so I could put something on top of it and it would stand out. I made green bias strips and drew a heart wreath which I applied the green bias to , sewing each strip down and intertwining them. I put appliqued roses at the ends and two birds and a heart. I appliqued the word " Hope" and ruched a rose in the center of the wreath. I then machine quilted the entire piece in a swirl pattern. There were about 100 entries...I never made it to the top 10. This quilt was made for my three sons ...who when they hurt I hurt....they will always have my heart. Something good came out of that contest because I would have never made this if I didn't enter......so for that I thank them....my children insprired me to make it and now I have something to pass down to them. Thanks for letting me share my story!

I love your quilt, do you use needle turn? I've been trying to lean that but I can't seem to get it right. So for now it is fusible for me

Your quilt sounds lovely and yes when our kid's hurt we hurt and I know that so well.  Keep the quilt for you to share with your son's.  You have a treasure.

Thank you for sharing your story. I agree, you really do hurt when your kids do. And by the way, I love the finished quilt. It has inspired me.
