Inspiring Quilters, Stitch by Stitch
It is an incredible day out today - sunny, blue sky and no humidity. So the question to myself is - do I go outside and read or stay inside and sew? O what a challenge!
On another note, I decided to tidy my sewing room. Bad idea, sort of because I found things that I have started and have yet to finish. I made a list, and I have 17 unfinished projects. And that doesn't count the quilt top that I finished on Monday, nor the two quilting classes that I am currently taking. O boy, do I ever have a lot of sewing to do.
The one class that I am taking is a $10 quilt class - show up with the finished block and you get the fabric and pattern for the next block. However, the quilt is going to cost me more than that to finish. It will be pretty when it is done - in a year or two.
The second quilt class I just started yesterday, and the pattern is called Summer Garden. So cute! I am using Laura Burtch fabrics on a cream background. And there is a lot of work in each block but my purpose for taking this workshop was to learn how and when to use the different feet for my sewing machine and to experiment with the different stitches. Yesterday, I learned two things - the guide tool (would have saved me a lot of time if I had known how to use it before), and some hints on turning corners when machine appliqueing.
Enjoy your day, and I hope you are having as nice of weather as we are.
