Today I started to work on my sewing room.  The majority of stuff has been moved out.  Walls scrubbed, and the taping has begun.  There are some small patches which need to be made so for now my progress is halted until Honey gets home from work.  After much consultation with the littlest minion and his mother we decided to not paint the ceiling.

Hmm all this nice white ceiling paint....maybe it is time to work on the sunroom/mudroom ceiling?!?!?  There is a reason for everything right?!?!?

Collette if you go to my quilt place you can see some of the photos I posted.  They are not the best as they were taken at night with my phone.  I get my camera back on Friday from the repair guy and I will take pictures during the day this Saturday.  They will be much clearer. Here is one picture it is a little blurry but it show my sewing tables, in relation to the cutting table

Cheri you will have to share pictures of your sewing room.  Honey has tons of ideas of what he can do to help me fix up my room just the way I want.

My sewing tables are two plastic tables that we got at costco.  One is 4' long and the other is 6' long.  We have them sitting in an l shape my sewing machine and computer sit on the 6 foot and the 4' is sitting along the wall. I put a small cutting mat there so that I can trim my pieces without getting up.  I would love to find someone who is getting rid of a farm table for nothing so that i could repurpose it into a sewing table like eleanor burns showed on quilt in a day.

Cheri  my sewing room in process is 9 1/2 X 12.  It used to be the sick room.   I have a little tiny closet (used to be part of the bathroom).  I so love the history and little quirks of this house though, and it makes me smile .  I have two huge windows one looks out on this huge oak tree and the other looks out to the field and an old hickory tree.  Honey's friends and family are on the look out for base cabinets which have been put on the curb (I am huge re-purposer) that can be used for sewing machine tables.  I can't wait to see what they come up with!

Have fun, I know I was so happy when the hubby decided that my sewing room would be one of the first rooms we did when we moved into our new house.  I got fresh paint and a engineered hardwood floor.  Two years later a new window which lets in lots of light and new blinds that I can close when it gets too hot.  Last year he added a ceiling light that has halogen lights like trak lights that I can point to different spaces.  I still have a wall mount ironing board that needs to be put in and the closet needs to be finished but just as you say a little bit will do ya. How big is your sewing room?  Mine is 11 x 12.
