Home again, home again, jiggity jig - My parents Gene and Marian Long and their Christmas quilt "Santas on Parade"

After 41 days in the hospital and in rehab, my Daddy-0 finally made it home on New Years Eve and both he and my mom are very glad to be there!  A week or so later, my sister Denise took this picture while visiting and sent it to me.  You can tell  by the smiles on their faces how happy they are to be in their own digs again and hopefully, how much they like the quilt.  As…

Back in the Saddle Again

Quilt hiatus is over but quilting will not resume full speed ahead unfortunately. I promised myself at least a month off after the Christmas quilts were finished and delivered on Thanksgiving Day and even went a bit beyond as I did not get back to my sewing machine until this week. However, I have a foot surgery scheduled for this coming Monday, January 13 - severe…

The Mitchum Family, owners of "Christmas Chicken in the Pines"

Life is very busy when you are a young family with growing careers and a growing kid so I will give my nephew Rob and his wife, Laura, a pass right now for not providing me with a family quilt picture.  Rob and Laura are the new owners of my second favorite quilt of the 15 Christmas quilts, "Christmas Chicken in the Pines."…

Dean is the proud owner of my very favorite of the 15…

I think they are sitting this one out - my niece Angie Mitchum Sharp and her quilt "One Wild Christmas Ride."

A few people (you know who you are and you are all my sister, Bev's children!) have neglected to send me pictures of their families with their Christmas quilt so I am stealing photos wherever I can and making do.  Here is my niece, Angie Mitchum Sharp as she claims her quilt on Thanksgiving night, even before it was her turn.

This quilt, "One Wild Christmas Ride," is…

Any which way you can - my brother Greg and his quilt "Christmas (I'm in) Bits and Pieces"

Well, I love my brother, Greg, I really do and I love his wife, Deb, not pictured here.  But let's face it kids, he (they?) do not know the top of a quilt from the side, God bless them!

In October this year, I had the opportunity to spend some time with my brother and sister-in-law at our mutual sibling, Bev's birthday and anniversary party in the Chicago suburbs. …
