Quilt or Visit Quilt Sites - That is the Question

So, like my Quilt Place friend Briget, I start looking at quilt sites and can't stop. i stayed up late on night this week perusing Fons and Porter, All People Quilt, and about 4 others. I hadn't been on for awhile. I have decided to visit once a month (not on the same night) to keep updated so i won't have to read and read and read. More on Reading

I have read Lover's Knot. All of Fowler's are great!  There is a book out with quilt blocks to sew from the Benni Harper books. I think it is published by C&T Publishing. Will be perfect for that novel quilt.

Summer Reading


It's summer so I have been reading at the pool, at the beach, in the backyard and on trips. Guess what most of my reading selections have been? Quilting novels!!! I like the simple"cozies" - quilting mystery novels especially. They are quick reads that I can finish in a day or two. Of course, I have read and re-read most of Jennifer Chiaverini's books and I have enjoyed Emilie Richards quilt themed novels.  The Benni Harper stories are fun as well.  I started a quilt novel book club…

Can't do what I want...yet anyway

Ever since I got back from Lancaster PA (AQS Show) a few weeks ago, I have been itching to try some techniques from two books I bought there.  

The first book is Cotton Theory by Betty Cotton. Using this technique you end up making 2 quilts (reversible) and quilt one block at a time.  Looks complex but is supposed to be easy. It certainly looked that way at the demo.
