Yayyy!!!! and.. holy crud I have a lot of work to do.

So, yayyyyyyyy.. my grace frame arrived today, the machine to put in it will be here tomorrow, so YAYYYYY!

Unfortunately I have been sewing with the new sewing machine.. gotta say, I'm still in love, that could change dramatically the first time it messes up.. I've finished up three quilts since it arrived.  I stupidly volunteered to put in a booth with quilts for sale for local humane society, I have no idea what I was thinking.. roughly 30 days to get as many quilts done as…

Halloween at our LQS

Yesterday was our monthly BOM at the LQS.  The shop is getting ready for next week's big Fall party and had several items hanging out in the classroom.  I got a few pictures to show but no names or patterns yet.

This is a darling quilt.

I should have peeked to see what the witch's leg table topper said.  "It's all about the....."   Going to be bugging me…

Remodeling makes for No Quilting

I am having new flooring put in our house. Wood floors in the LR, DR,K, and my sewing room. Had to empty out my sewing room and I have everything stacked up in the guest bedroom. I knew I had a lot of 'stuff' and 'stash', but seeing it unorganized and out of the closet really makes me think that I should not be buying more fabric for a while. LOL

Also for those who have been following my project regarding the Asian fabrics that I purchased a few months ago: I have all the blocks done…

Library Shelf

Not quite done with the library shelf wall hanging, but hope to finish it up tomorrow.  I took a picture "as is" just because I am so happy with how it is turning out!

It was my first time using invisible thread.  Had a few problems - first, as the bobbin was spooling, it jumped over the bobbin and onto the post under it and before I knew it, I had a good 30-40 minutes…

Blazing Star Pattern search

Hi Everyone, I am looking for anyone who would have the blazing star pattern.  This is a Fons and Porter pattern.  It was featured on their 200 series television show.  That tells you how long ago it was.  I have tried searching back issues on their website and I cannot find it.  It is a foundation piecing…

Words for a quilt label

I'm almost finished a quilt /wall-hanging for the wedding of my brother-in-law & his new wife.  I need ideas for words to put on the quilt label.  Anyone have some nice words - I'm horrible at coming up with the right words.

Finding Quilt Shows & Guilds - So Hard - Help!? Help!? Help!?

As you know, finding quilt shows (or even guilds) when you travel or move is difficult.  Simply trying to find the various websites for the area is hard.  Finding guilds is even worse.  Almost all of it is outdated and even the regional lists aren’t accurate.

With the help of Orlando and Lake County quilters in 2009 the idea of accurate and easily searchable listings of guilds and events was born.  It took three years to write all the complex computer code to keep then info…

Well ladies, tragedy has struck my household once again.. this morning my adorable little Janome threw a hiss fit, jammed up a needle and now refuses to sew without snagging the threads of any fabric I put under it. It's old and inexpensive, so not worth trying to fix beyond the cleaning etc that I already tried.. so, R.I.P my little Janome.. your replacement will be arriving soon.

In the meantime, I guess I'll set up a corner for projects I want to do and have the fabric for so I can…

Current quilt project

I've been working on a Buggy Barn quilt from their book, Certifiably Crazy. I now know why they chose that title. The Barn Chics pattern is cute but a bit of a challenge.

"Toggle" Ready for Embroidery

Well, I missed my Friday deadline to get a picture up of Adam's graduation quilt, "Toggle".  But, here it is, in a kind of wonky looking picture.  The room with my design wall on it isn't big enough to get a straight-on shot and still get all of the quilt in it, so I used Photoshop to change the angle, and, well, it didn't quite do the job.  It's made with Moda's Birchbark charm packs.…
