I'll get more creative with the titles later, right now I just want to type a bit before the library closes and I lose connection. Last day of the AQS Paducah Show. I went to Hancocks of Paducah and Quilt in a Day to see Eleanor Burns put on her show. Now I get to relax for a day before I fly back to San Diego on Monday and return to work on Tuesday. I did have to go out and buy an extra bag to check on the way back to drag home all of my show purchases. It will be cheaper than shipping… Continue

I am typing this on the keyboard of my droid phone, so I imagine it will be short. I am currently in Paducah Kentucky enjoying the show. Saw Ricky Tim's perform live tonight...amazing! Can't wait to explore my quilt place and all it has to offer!

I saw the ad and website address in the latest issue of "Quilt Life". It seemed like an interesting place to check out. I read several blogs daily and had one for awhile. I just couldn't seem to maintain the interest in keeping it up. I also belong to "The Quilt Show" and again tried to blog over there. I guess I am more a reader that a writer.
Quilting has been my passion for 20 years with rubber stamping and all paper crafts coming in as a close second. I have just started… Continue

Hello! I'm new and don't have much time this week to check out what everyone else has on here. I definitely will find time next week, but in the meantime wanted to tell everyone in Southeast Iowa to look for me at the quilt show in Kalona this weekend! I'll be posting pictures on my blog of some of the amazing local talent (www.taracurtis.net).

I just joined MQP and hopefully I'll participate regularly. I have a habit of joining groups or forums and sitting in the background. This is more interactive and it seems like there are several interesting things to do here, so, we shall see!

We've had a little - OK - a LOT - of rain, so we've made some venue changes, but the show is ON! What's a little water when there are more than 400 quilts to see, vendors to shop, and the 20th anniversary of The National Quilt Museum to celebrate? Hope to see you here! Read the latest news and changes for this week's show at www.americanquilter.com.

I have begun the quilting on my Autumn Delight whole cloth quilt. I decided to go with the green variegated 12 weight thread from Sulky. The other two quilts in this series have used the same brand and weight thread. I'm taking my time to enjoy the hand quilting. I've never hand quilted through a batik fabric before. It's a little different than what I'm used to. The weave on the fabric is tighter. While I quilt this one, I'm planning the fourth in the series of the seasons. It will be in… Continue

I'm working on a family heirloom for a friend. Her Great-Grandmother made the top back in the 30's or 40's. It's been in a trunk for years and has some damage and fading. She said that my panoramic quilting is exactly what she wanted to keep this top together so I'm putting a LOT of extra love in my stitches while I quilt. I'll post pictures when I'm through............ Continue

I'd like to start a group here for people who love to make whole cloth quilts or just enjoy looking at them. For both hand and machine quilting. Is there anyone else that is interested in a whole cloth quilting group?

Just finished a wall quilt pieced from the scarves from my son's dog Willow who died several months ago. In the center is a pieced picture of Willow.

I finally got my whole cloth top basted. I decided on a dark green blender backing. I'm still trying to decide what thread to quilt it with. I've narrowed it down to 2 threads. Both are Sulky 12 weight, Blendables. One is a green with really nice color changes. The other one has many different colors, from light to dark. I like both of them on the quilt top, but I can't decide which one looks the best on the back of the quilt. I love hand quilting with the Sulky 12 weight thread. I've used it… Continue

I am learning to quilt, usually make art wall hangings, but watching grandkids has limited my sewing time, unfortunatly, not limited my buying time.....hence, more fabric than quilts. So, I have started to wash, cut, and store excess fabric in strips of various widths, squares, and bricks, so when I do have time again, I am ready to do scrappy quilts. Amazing how a huge basket of cloth can be reduced to a medium tote of cuts.....

It is a beautiful morning here in Maine. The sun is out and it is about 50 degrees. I take care of two beautiful little girls during the day and I'm hoping to take them out somewhere later. I'm going to try to get my whole cloth, Autumn Delight, basted tonight so that I can begin the quilting on it. I've decided not to change anything on the design. I hope everyone has a great day.
