North Carolina Quilters

Talking with quilters from all over the world is amazing, but sometimes it's good to get to know other quilters closer to home. This group will allow us to get to know other quilters from North Carolina, share our favorite quilt shops, tips, techniques and maybe make some new friendships!See More

Tell us about yourself—as much or as little as you like.
I have only been quilting a little over a year. Even as a young girl I have admired quilts and my great-aunt made them. However, even though I wanted to learn I never did. A couple years ago, as a cross stitcher I joined a crafting group and a few of the ladies quilted. I decided it was time to learn how to quilt and have been doing it every since!

Do you want to make quilts, or simply enjoy them?

Hi Sue just here to introduce myself and welcome you to MQP.

Some times we are not sure where to visit on this site but I wanted to let you know that I have a group of gals and I that are doing several different quilts the Blooming Nine and the Jewel Box quilts. We are posting pictures with our choices of fabrics and progress. Carla Walton has done several of the Blooming Nine so she is our administrator. Come on over to view what we are doing at http://myquiltplace.com/group/batik-strip-swap/forum/topics/projects-and-pictures?xg_source=activity.

To do the Jewel Box we have a Batik Strip Swap going on and we are using those strips for the Jewel Box. We recently started up a charm square swap with 5" squares of batiks and cottons so if you are interested in that you can go and join at http://myquiltplace.com/group/charm-square-swap?xg_source=activity. Enjoy!
