Wee Folk

I made this for a quilt fabric challenge. The fabric made me think of mushrooms. I found a vintage image of wee folk painting mushrooms as the basis for my project. Fusible and hand applique, colored pencil details, machine quilted.

Incomplete blocks from a larger project showed up on the quilters free table. I finished the applique and embroidery and set them together with the fabric they came with.

One of my first handkerchief quilts made when I was a new quilter. I loved the Liebestraum by Liszt hanky because I had learned to play it on the piano as a teen. I used vintage fabrics in the border.
