BTW - you live in every quilter's dream neighborhood! Paducah is right across the river!!! OMGosh!
I am so sorry I didn't reply sooner. I did a little checking and there is a quilt guild in Metropolis. They are called the Massic Quilt Guild and they meet on the first Monday of the month at the Metropolis Civic Center. Their contact person is cozequilts@yahoo.com. Between the local guild and local quilt or fabric shops, they can steer you to a lot of events that you could enter. Let me know if this helps. Joining a guild is worth such a wealth of friendships, mentoring, brainstorming, help...I can't even begin to tell you how fun it is spending time with other quilters can be.
It is never too soon to enter a quilt into something. Local fairs are good because of the critiques they give. I love that for the learning. Your local guild may have a show and that is a fun time. Learning, inspiration, and the friendships can be very rewarding!
Hello Mindy, welcome to MQP. This is a great site with lots of inspiration and fun groups to join.
