Hi Mary Lee. Sorry for the delay ina accepting your invitation. To be honest I signed up for MyQuiltPace in Paducah, but I am more of an aspiring quilter rather than a quilter. I do have lots of fabric and a bookcase full of books, but never got started.

I've never taken a class as I never had a machine to bring to a class, although I have a featherweight.  I now have a Singer 301 I hope to lube, clean etc.

I am not really into social networking, per se, such as facebook, etc. First off, I don't type well.

I am actually a collector and user of  antique and vintage sewing machines and am involved in the International  Sewing Machine Collectors Society , Needlebar, Treadleon and a number of Yahoo groups on collecting, conserving, restoring and using pre 1960 machines. Many of these folks quilt on treadle machines. My passion is trealdes and handcranks, although I own a number of electric, all of which need work.

I will be attending my first Toga( Treadle On Gathering and Academy) in late July, which is a gathering of folks who use people powered machines.

Besides sewing, I rughook, needlepunch (beginner), weave baskets and woodwork/paint.

I live in Walland, volunteer at the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center as a docent and conservator of their treadle sewing machines. I'd love to meet others here.

I'd be interesting in joining in the Fabulous Fall Fiber Frenzy if you will have me. Maybe I can bring one of the many quilt kits, if others would't mind giving me some help.

Actually a friend of mine goes there for scrapbooking and tried to get me to go. Since I am more a fiber vs a being paper person, I felt I wouldn't relate, so declined.

After the holiday I can send in my deposit if there is still room.

Again, thanks for the invite.

Thanks for your friend request. I love making quilts too and yes, it is an addiction...:) I still hand piece and hand quilt so I guess I'm a dinosaur. Have a great weekend, Brenda

Hello Mary,

Great to add you as a friend.... I have lived in Maryville all my life.   I have been sewing since i was about 8 years old and making quilts for about 8 years now.  I love it, it is an addiction....  Do you visit any of the local shops, (pappys, mammaws thimble or mountain creek)?     Take care,  Connie
