Don't give up, Marie!  There are many, many things that everyone seems to know about computers that I don't have a clue about.  I just do the things I can do.  Like I don't understand Facebook or twitter or any of that stuff, so I don't do it.  It seems like you're fine here participating in discussions, so that's what I would do.  This is a really good place to make friends and I'd hate to see you go!

I made a small quilt (16x16) with one large Dresden Plate on it, and it has curved tips instead of pointy ones, and I thought it looked kind of funny...you're right; a beach ball!  This time I plan on doing points instead.  The only part I'm worrying about is sewing it to the background fabric.  I like regular piecing, not applique'.  The pineapple quilt is another I'd like to tackle, but I plan on getting more experience first; that one looks especially hard.  I've heard that Bonnie Hunter is the best teacher for those.  I'll have to check out her page.

I hope you daughter can post some pictures for you; I love seeing what everyone has made.

When I first joined this site I came here every day for two weeks before I figured most things out.  It was extremely confusing to me, but I finally get it.  I don't use Facebook and I'm not on any other quilting groups, so I wasn't sure how things worked.  I'm surprised that I managed to figure out how to put pictures on; that took me the longest to figure out.

What do you think you'll make next?  I'm thinking about making a Dresden Plate lap quilt just for myself.  That's my favorite block, but I don't like applique so I've never tried it.  But I have a nice collection of reproduction 30's fabrics that I would love to use for a quilt like that.

Are you almost finished with your current quilt?  Are you keeping it or giving it away?

I just saw the large finished one you posted...what a clever idea!  I've never heard of a crumbie quilt and I'm wondering if it means just what it says...using leftover crumbs of fabric.  Anyway, it's really neat!

I saw you got your picture of the crumbie quilt up...good job!  That looks like it's something that would be fun to do.  How large are you making it?  And where did you get the idea?
