I am a wife of 43 years to the same wonderful man, I am a mother of 3 fantastic sons, and a Menammie to 8 perfect grandchildren~~~:) I have been sewing since I was a very small child...I had to do everything my mother did...and she had the patience to teach me~ bless her heart! I made doll clothes first then went to clothes for myself and then sewed for others at home so I could be there and raise my own children...I made models for The Cherry Pit in Sevierville, Tn for several years and have since moved near Nashville and right now I am getting started back to my quilting...I love to make the tops and sew the binding and I have quilted a few by hand and machine but prefer to have them machine quilted by the experts! I have gone through some serious back surgeries and neck surgeries so I couldn't sew for a while...took up knitting...I really love to do anything that requires a needle and thread of any that I'm back to my quilts I am having a wonderful time sewing...I have to sew up all my stash...I don't have anyone to leave it too!!! All sons and grandsons!!! There is nothing more satisfying than sewing to me...and my other needle crafts too....I have a wonderful studio that is just right for me to get lost in...I usually call it my Playroom~;) I'm so glad there are so many sights on line to read about other quilters etc... that offer so much info about new products etc...have not joined a guild since I moved here but I intend to now since my back is feeling better...Happy sewing everyone~~~:)

Zina is a gorgeous cat...You're a better Furbaby mom than me...I don't let mine which looks very much like yous into my "Playroom" she sits at the door and then tries to sneak in and I gently scold her and she turns around and leaves shaking her hind foot at me~~~LOL! No, I just get sick of cleaning up all her "love" she spreads soon as I'm done she's in my arms...she's black with a white diamond on her neck/chest and 2 white streaks across her underside from leg to leg...she had…

I have finished a quilt top!!!! YAY! It's a Sampler Quilt I was making from a fun thing Jane at the Cherry Pit had going...I chose to do bright colors because they are so out of my comfort zone...I am really happy how this one turned out after all...I used black sashing between the blocks with corner stones of the scraps in the blocks...then I found this great fabric with a black background with splashes of the colors in the blocks all over...have a wild harlequin print for the…

I know everyone knows where they were and what they were doing when the tragedy struck NYC...I was home listening to GMA while cleaning the kitchen...I called Joe, my hubby and my children...we prayed it was an accident and was over with this one tragic event...Surprize~ surprize!!!The terriosts we found out were not through terrorizing America...So many deaths, so much much saddness~~~so many awful memories... it still leaves fear in our hearts that this could happen…

no it doesn't. i have noticed over the years, tho, that i have always gravitated toward older individuals for friendship. 'course there have been a few much younger too. have wondered of the older has anything to do w growing up w gramma as my primary adult & her friends...and as an adult a little too roudy and freewheeling for people in my own age group. ride & some great friends across the years.

we figured it up in recent ph visit, friends for over thirty years. she is in her 80's now & reliant on others for transportation etc. she did so much for me as young working wife & mother..feel like i can never do enough for her. our original attraction to one another was a common love of sewing, knitting, crafting, gardening etc etc. wide age diff but we never noticed. love her so... :)) and she loves the things i make for here..i tell her it is payback for all the toys & things that she made for the little love of sn over worked young nurse! lollollol...git even time! you betcha!!

no, i am spending an evening wandering and reading. i just saw the purse pic on garnies swap, loved it so went on my little search which led into the wider tangent then had to come thank you...lollollollo..already making plans tho, i think it would make a wonderful little "notion" purse for elderly friend, i got her some nice (read "sharp" :)) ) scissors etc recently & made her a cute little pin that little purse needs to be added too.

hi marcia, reading & looking at the photos on garnie's itty bitty surprse fq swap, loved the little purse you made. searched quilalott and found it + a whole bunch more to read and wander off into & around in. thank you for the name of the site and the serendipitously delightful oppertunity to meander thru great links to GREAT pages, many that were duly added to my bookmark file of quilt/craft blogs. thank you!!

Marsha, I will have enough fabric if I use a two inch binding. It will be tough but if I am careful it will be OK. I am waiting until the end of September, to give sites a chance to answer my inquiries where I have placed them, but after that it is going to the long arm quilting lady. Also, thank you for your compliments on the quilts. I will try to post pics of the quilting on the Pink Peony Star. My LAQ lady did a great job with wreaths and feathers, lots of good stuff.
