Hello again! Thanks for adding me as a friend!
I sure wish I had some sort of quilting group. I tried getting a guild going a few years ago, but there just wasn't enough interest. I've noticed people up here tend to keep to themselves pretty much. I was thinking about posting a note in our quilt shop just to see if anyone would be interested in some sort of get together. Maybe a sign up sheet or something. Getting a guild going was probably overzealous of me considering I've never even been to one meeting!
That's a bummer about yours meeting all of the place! I wonder if any members go to all of the meetings? There is a lady in my town who goes to the guild in Portland, which is over two hours away from here...and it's at night time. I don't think I'd go to that one. Plus, it's one of the new "Modern" quilt guilds and I'm more into traditional.
I have a mini-iron and it's great because my regular iron and ironing board don't fit in my sewing room, but I bought a minature ironing board for the mini iron and it's great having it by my side as I piece.
I hope you had a great day!
Anyway, thanks for adding me as a friend!
Hi again! I was just reading a post you put on the piecing group. You are so lucky to have a guild to belong to!!! I'm in a small town and there isn't a guild, quilting group or any classes, so I had to learn how to quilt using books and the internet. I've been quilting for 6 years and I wish I'd have found a site like this back in the beginning (this website has only been around for less than a year). I've learned a lot from people here!
I never learned how to sew until I made my first quilt, so now I'm trying to teach myself like I did quilting, but to me regular sewing is much harder!!! I was never this frustrated when I started quilting. Anyway, this is a great site and I hope you'll enjoy it here as much as I do!
