I love to quilt and embroider on my Viking Rose (old machine but can't afford a new one). I have a Singer Featherweight which I take to quilt guild volunteer days and workshops. Also I was given a Singer 99K which is similar to the one I grew up with. I would love to share my projects with this group and learn new things.

I see you joined the Featherweight group!  It just started a few days ago.  I've wanted a Featherweight since I started quilting...I don't know if it's because I think they're so cute or because they're a fad among quilters!  Probably a bit of both!  I'd buy one if I could, but the prices are high unless you get lucky and stumble upon one at the Goodwill or a garage sale!

It took me a good two weeks to figure things out!  I don't use facebook, twitter or anything like that, so this was all new to me.  I thought I'd never figure it out!  The photos are easy to do if you know where to find them on your computer.  If you go to add photos then you can either add them using a disk from your camera or directly from your computer.  I did mine from my computer.  One thing you can play around with to get used to it is the "customize" button.  You can change your home page...they have templates or you can do what I did and just change colors.  That was kind of fun once I figured it out!

The only thing they really did different on the site was to rearrange the stuff on the home page.  Blog posts used to be at the top and now they're towards the bottom.  Our own pages stayed the same.  On your home page you can edit how many of your posts you want to can't hurt anything by playing around with it.  If you edit something and don't like it, then just edit it back.  Many here don't mess around with their pages; they just leave the one they got.

Another thing that confused me was the groups.  You can start a new topic or you can skim down to where it says "discussions" and say something there.  I didn't see that for a long time and thought I had to always add a new topic.  It seems like almost everyone got confused when they got here unless they use other sites like this.  This is my first one.

Anyway, hopefully you'll figure it out faster than did; I'm having lots of fun now and hope you will too!

Hi Kristie!  I'm Bridget and I live in Seaside, Oregon.  I joined this site at the end of April and I'm really enjoying it!  I've met so many wonderful people and everyone is so friendly and helpful!  When I first came here I joined several of the groups so I could get to know others...I joined machine quilting, piecing, traditional quilts, scrappy quilts and a few others.  I also started a group for newbies.  I've been quilting for 5 years and I have so much I want to learn!

Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and welcome!
