I love the way that Ms Gardner weaves stories about different people into one story! I have read both her DD Warren series (detective stories) and also her "standalone" books, loved The Survivors…Continue

Happy birthday, Kathleen~I hope you have a wonderful day!
Hi again! I hope you get used to this site faster than it took me! All I've used the internet for is shopping and e-mail, so this kind of place was rather confusing for me at first. But now I really love it! I can't believe how much I've learned in such a short amount of time!
You know what I find interesting, when I've gone to Portland or Vancouver (WA) there are hardly any quilt shops, but here along the coast I have 5 within an easy driving distance. I would think it would be just the opposite! I actually do a lot of my shopping on-line if I can't find what I want locally. Do you have very many quilt shops? Do you ever take classes? I sure hope I can someday. What I really want is to go to Houston with about $5000 in my pocket!!! Have you ever been there? I have yet to go to any shows, but there is going to be a Machine Quilting Expo in Portland this fall. I hope I'll be able to attend that one!
I hope you're planning on posting some of your quilt photos! Looking at all of the fabulous quilts is one of my favorite things to do here!
Thanks for writing back!
I bet you need lots of quilts to keep warm in Fairbanks, Alaska! Do you have many fabric stores up there?
Best, Val
Hi Kathleen! I'm Bridget and I live in Seaside, Oregon. I joined this site a month ago and I'm really enjoying myself. Since I'm in a very small town there are no guilds, quilting groups or classes, so finding this place was great! I've met so many friendly and helpful quilters!
I never learned to sew; no one in my family sews, and it was a fluke that I decided to make a quilt. But after that first one was finished I couldn't wait to start another. Now I'm hooked, of course! I'm almost 50 and have been quilting for about 6 years now. There is so much I want to learn!
Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and welcome!
