how lucky we are to have a special day for quilters!
Special wishes for my patchwork friends
May your cottons never shrink and your colours never bleed
May you have all the notions, needles and pins you need
May your collection of fabric be quite a big stash
So you can choose the value, texture and colours in a flash
May your scissors be sharp,…

We have lovely weather here at the moment - it is very hot 38 degrees and a slight breeze. Our city is recovering from the biggest timed cycle race in the world held yesterday. The Argus Pick and Pay cycle tour covers 110km of the most picturesque roads around the peninsular of Cape Town. The riders take off from the city centre and go around Table Mountain and into the leafy suburbs and at a great pace, there are several hill climbs that sap the energy and once at the top of these the views…

Jenny!!! Surely if she caught the bulterfty was for embracing it and then realease it!!! They are wonderful loose, dancing in the air!!! Love them!!!!
Thanks Jenny. It's great to meet you. I love connecting with other Jennifers. The button dolly with the red hair is Pepper Mint and the blonde is Belinda.
Color catchers are some sort of washable paper treated with something that attracts dyes. The dyes that come out of the fabric go into the color catcher and not on your other fabrics. I really don't know how they work but they are great. If you are willing to give me your address in my in box, I would be happy to send you some!
The fabric you have told me about sound beautiful. I will have to look it up on the internet.
thank you for adding me as a friend jenny. i love this place. it's wonderful to get to see so much talent in one place. sort of like going to a quilt show in your PJ'S. :)
Thanks Jenny, it is also my favorite quilt. I so enjoyed making the New York Beauty.
Thank you for your encouragement, Jenny. It's been a tough 2 1/2 years since he left. Too much drama so I'm quilting again after a long absence. Moving from a 2200 sq ft home to a 700 sq ft apartment made me crazy with everything in storage. Decided I didn't care if the sewing consumed my apartment, I don't have much company anyway. One day I hope to be as accomplished as you are, it's my goal! It was a lovely day here in San Clement CA, .5 miles from the beach. I love that you're in South Africa and I'm in the US, in California. How awesome is that! Thanks again. Love, Cathy
I love the crochet blocks you shared with me! I am left handed in many things as well. I would love to learn the crochet pattern. I am much better at watching than at reading a pattern! I love your quilts! THey are amazing! I am hoping to go to Africa one day, on a mission trip.. :)
How lovely to have a friend in South Africa. It makes me wonder what happened to a lovely lady in my first quilt class back in the early 70's. She was visiting the U.S. and disappointed us terribly by telling us the only lion she had ever seen was at a department store opening. I will bore you later with lots of information about the tapestry project, and lots of photos.
Hi Jenny~thanks for adding me as a friend!
I love your quilts! You do such a wonderful job! I'm in a dry spell right now and I can't seem to snap out of it. You've been quilting for a long time; have you ever gone through times when you just couldn't quilt?
