Make, and enjoy finding them loving owners!
How long have you been a quilter?
Made the first one about 6 years ago, then caught 'the bug' big time maybe 3 years ago.
What is your favorite quilting technique?
Since I still am considered a 'beginner' I stick to piecing. I have done practice paper piecing, and a little applique.
Why do you quilt?
I love to create, and the sewing is my therapy! I could stay in my sewing room all day. Making the tops, then getting them onto my quilt frame!

HOT HOT HOT!!!

I am sure that everyone is having a heat wave!!! Thank goodness for AC and a pool - but it's even too hot to be outside!! Had a new student start today - and I have been getting emails and calls - hopefully I will get more eager students!

My little students are working on their quilts, and one 'quilted' hers on the big machine!! My students also helped make squares for a 'Quilt of Valor' that has been assembled, and next step is binding, and finishing!!

My daughter is changing…

It's raining AGAIN...our pool is not getting uses much this spring/summer - either it's raining, or the water is so cold cause it gets cold at night!!  Our exchange student leaves next Wednesday to go back home to Spain, I have not given him his quilt yet - we are having a going away party for him on Sunday - hopefully his 'buds' will write him messages on the back!

Trying to convince my daughter to move up to the room he stayed in - so I can knock some walls down and make my studio…

Hi Jan!  Sounds like you had a perfect day!  I love getting gift cards for my b-day!  I'm coming up on the big 5-0 later this month and was hoping to buy a featherweight.  Just waiting for the right deal to come along.  I really love the quilts you've made!  I was on a roll for the first four years of quilting and then out of the blue I slowed down and started losing interest.  I thought that would never happen!  I'm trying really hard to get back in the mood, which is why I joined this site in the first place.  I've made a few here and there, but it's nothing like it was in the beginning when all I could think about was quilting!  Have you ever had a dry time?  I caught the bug big time in the beginning and I want it back now!  Anyway, I hope you find the batting on sale!

Thanks again for writing back!

Happy birthday, Jan!  I hope you have a wonderful day!

I'm Bridget and I live in Seaside, Oregon...talk about rain!!!  We had a rare sunny day July 1, but the rain is coming back today and tomorrow.  I joined this site at the end of April and I'm really enjoying it!  Everyone is so friendly and helpful!  I've been quilting for 6 years now; a late bloomer, as I started when I was in my mid 40's.  I wish I'd have learned to sew when I was younger, but I hated home ec and took auto shop instead.  Sewing skills would really come in handy now that I want to make things like bags and aprons.  My first quilt was my first sewing project and I had so much fun I just kept making them.  Most of mine were made during the first 4 years; I've been struggling through a dry spell; which is why I came here...inspiration and encouragement!

I love your quilts!  You've done a wonderful job!

Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and happy birthday!
