"Kris, I just love all the goodies you made for gifts. Scraps are good for something. Some of my favorite things I have made started out as scraps from other projects. I love them because when I look at them I remember the things…"
"So, Mary you found 2 ducks on line. Wouldn't it be swell if we only had two ducks to line up for our PHDs? I know most of us have rather large flocks of ducks to deal with.
Riana, I was looking on line at Barnes and Noble and they…"
"All these blocks are darling. I would love to get involved, BUT, I am doing UFOs and PHDs and I have lots of both to do. I promised myself that I would not start another project, especially one like this that has a deadline. I do…"
"So sorry Barbara about your baking misadventure. I hope all turns out well. I'm not so crazy about being a finicky oldlady. I have a great friend who is at least one generation younger than I am she, lovingly she says, calls…"
"Liz, I have found that there are always a few that are attending just for the entertainment. My guild when I lived in Florida was a very large one, usually 75 or so attended our day meetings. There was one gal who had belonged for many…"
"This whole endeavor makes me think of my favorite book when I was a small child, " Make Way For Ducklings". I recently found a copy, a new one, and gifted it to my Great Grand Daughter, age 4, Scarlet. I love reading it to her just…"
"I have backing for all my planned projects just need the batting. Hubby has spread the word among all the children that gift cards for Joanns is my great wish for Christmas when they ask. I'd like to be able to get a 20 yard roll of…"

"Linda, I like the idea of writing it down in a list like you did. It is something that I can look at every day to remind me. Having several things on the list will allow me to put one aside when I'm tired of looking at it and…"
"Elizabeth, I can't wait to see the Pansy quilt. I love Thimbleberries so much. I have the patterns for several of them that I haven't done yet and want to start but, I must finish what I already have started so I can earn my…"
Tell us about yourself—as much or as little as you like.
I have been quilting for about 20 years, I am retired from hotel management. I have a lot of time on my hands, due to some health problems I am not as active as I once was. I do belong to my local guild, local Project Linus group and block of the month at my local quilt shop. I have 7 children, 16 grandchildren and 14 great grands. They keep me pretty busy making quilts, etc. None of them live near us so I do miss that. I love to see what other quilters are doing and I also like to do some swaps, thats always fun.
How many quilts have you made?
Lost count a long time ago
Do you want to make quilts, or simply enjoy them?
LOve making then and enjoy them both
How long have you been a quilter?
about 20 years
What is your favorite quilting technique?
I am a hand quilter, I enjoy traditional and historic best but have done some modern.
Why do you quilt?
Because I love to, it's my way of being creative and the people I give them to enjoy them and that gives me great satisfaction

Gail, feel free to take part in all the discussions. Sometime in January I will be asking to see who wants to participate next year. Then I send out questionnaires. Secret Santa sisters will be assigned usually in April. Then you have all year to work on things for your SS box. We mail them out around the first Saturday in December.
This year we had a couple of contests. There are discussions all year trying to find answers to questions that maybe weren't on the questionnaires. We post tutorials for gift ideas. We have general discussions too.
So welcome to the group. Take part so we can get to know you for next year!
