"I have been "missing in action" for a while. Seems that our GP has had us running inseveral directions at once. In the past few weeks between hubby and myself we have had several different kinds of medical tests done, still…"
"Elizabeth, it sounds like you have some great fabric for mug rugs. For many years I belonged to an on line group that did Secret Pal Swaps every month and as a result I have a lot of mug rugs. I use them all the time, switching them out…"
"I tried working on my Red, White and Blue but still can't manage it, to heavy for me yet. Still working on smaller projects that I can manage and gettinga lot of them done, it's like Christmas shopping."
"Ihave made tons of place mats. They sell really well at craft shows and make a fast gift when needed. I probably have seven or eight sets myself, some seasonal and some every day ones. They are a great way to use up extra blocks."
"Riana, I don't think I survive a completely "sew free" diet, perhaps crocheting or embroidery, but some kind of hand work. Idle hands are the devils workshop and I get in enough trouble with out having idle hands. I have…"
"Riana, the Red, White and Blue is not coming along so well. I'm having a lot of medical problems right now, back and stomach things. I've been finishing up some smaller UFOs that I can manage without any tusseling them all…"
"Zoe, I am so glad you are safe. It sounds like you had a lot of cleaning up to do, I understand what that is like. We lost a lot when we lived in Florida from hurricaine michael. My son called and told me that the town we lived in…"
"Liz, I love what you did with that panel. I'll have to add that to my options, I've never seen that one before.
Yesterday my Grand daughter and GGS came by and spent some time with us on the patio and GGS asked me if boys could make…"
"Wilma, I understand what you mean about appliances, nothings made to last these days. When I was a child we never had to replace anything. My Mom used even the same toaster for thirty years. Of course that was all before plastic…"
"Riana, I loved seeing your beautiful Grand Daughter. I have a GGD named Layla and i miss her so much. We lived next to each other for about six years in Florida, in Panama City. She is now in Jacksonville and we are here in…"
"Zoe, I love your beach quilt. I have used Attic Windows for a lot of panels, most of them when the picture is vertical, but a few horizontial like yours. They do take up a good bit of wall space when finished in the horizontal. …"
"Barbara, I love the way you marked the hezies. Thats really a great pattern, I know what you mean about the centers, I never thought about a hammer. I have always joked that I iron some quilts into submission, never thought of beating…"
"Elizabeth, I love those greens, they look festive. I also love easy blocks like those, youcan turn them into something that lookslike a lot of work but isn't. Just a few turns here and there and there's a great different…"
"The best thing about the things we make is they can be anything we want them to be. Wall hangers can be table runners or bed runners, bed quilts can be hung up if you want to. I have wrapped other gifts in quilts. I figure if I…"
Tell us about yourself—as much or as little as you like.
I have been quilting for about 20 years, I am retired from hotel management. I have a lot of time on my hands, due to some health problems I am not as active as I once was. I do belong to my local guild, local Project Linus group and block of the month at my local quilt shop. I have 7 children, 16 grandchildren and 14 great grands. They keep me pretty busy making quilts, etc. None of them live near us so I do miss that. I love to see what other quilters are doing and I also like to do some swaps, thats always fun.
How many quilts have you made?
Lost count a long time ago
Do you want to make quilts, or simply enjoy them?
LOve making then and enjoy them both
How long have you been a quilter?
about 20 years
What is your favorite quilting technique?
I am a hand quilter, I enjoy traditional and historic best but have done some modern.
Why do you quilt?
Because I love to, it's my way of being creative and the people I give them to enjoy them and that gives me great satisfaction

Gail, feel free to take part in all the discussions. Sometime in January I will be asking to see who wants to participate next year. Then I send out questionnaires. Secret Santa sisters will be assigned usually in April. Then you have all year to work on things for your SS box. We mail them out around the first Saturday in December.
This year we had a couple of contests. There are discussions all year trying to find answers to questions that maybe weren't on the questionnaires. We post tutorials for gift ideas. We have general discussions too.
So welcome to the group. Take part so we can get to know you for next year!
