Tell us about yourself—as much or as little as you like.
I am a tired Realtor. Mother of three, grandmother of six and great grandmother of one with another on the way. I keep very active. Love to garden, fish, swim, boating, travel throughout U.S.A.. Wanted to learn how to quilt, did not know how to thread a needle or use any sewing machine. My daughter had been given this old machine that was given to her by her mother-in-law which had been used by her mother-in-law. I took it to a repair place and with somewhat of a shy apology asked him if he could explain to me how this thing worked and how to wind a bobbin as well as thread a needle. Thank you all for giving me such encouragement. That was back in 1995. The rest is now history.

How'd you do at Keepsake sale?

I'm still trying to sell off at least half of my yardage stash, so I try to avoid all quilt shops except Quilters Workshop in Newport.

I think I've told you before a group of us quilt there all day on Wednesdays.  If I need anything I always wait so as to give Gail (the Owner) my business.

Good for you

I'm glad the shots are helping.  I've never felt good about a doctor who only offers drugs as a remedy/solution.

Hi Florence - so sorry about your back problems.  Will you need surgery?

Hi Florence and welcome to the NH group - so far there are 3 of us who live in the Granite State

I'm in Keene; belong to a group, Wednesdays at Gail's.  We meet every Wednesday at Quilters Workshop in Newport.  Most of us bring our machines and work all day, a couple of gals sit doing handwork.

Geography is not my long suit, so have no idea how near you are to Newport. If you're in the area on a Wednesday do join us. I won't be there this Wednesday, but will thereafter, Lord willing.

I enjoyed your photo show
