I am a quilter who have been quilting since 1975. I have made a lot of quilts...my guess would be more than 30. I like to quilt as a stress reliever. I suffer from back pain and I have to do hobbies that require me to sit. I also like to crochet, which I have been doing for about 3 years. I have 2 grown daughters, 2 grandsons ages 13 & 14, 2 pugs and 2 cats.

welcome to My Quilt Place diane. great and wonderful collection of members here with all levels of quilting skils - from beginner to professional. and the interaction between them all is fun, entertaining and, at times, educational. here is a link to a comment i wrote for another new member some time ago that has been well recieved by other new members for whom i have posted it again ..
and be sure when checking out the "groups" pages to note those that might be of special interest to you. there are gardening, knitting, machine embroidery etc - every interest has a home here. if you don't see one for a special interest of yours...just start a new group. the activity in the various groups ebbs and flows. but all are great to wander in, join, or whatever!
Just a quick note about where you can go on this site each person has the ability to do something as in a blog or a club or just chat. I have a group of gals that started swapping 2 1/2" Batik strips with me. I now have 34 gals and they are all doing projects together with the strips that we swapped. Just last week I started a Charm Swap with Batiks and 100% cotton so if you are interested you can come over to the Batik Strip Swap on the page there are discussions where Carla started the girls doing a Jewel Box quilt with the Batik strips and the charms now will help with the 4 7/8" square as Charm Squares are 5". So if you are curious come join http://myquiltplace.com/group/batik-strip-swap?xg_source=activity and http://myquiltplace.com/group/charm-square-swap
