Hi Deb! Thanks for all the compliments! My 'daddy' bags are a great hit with everyone even more so with women! I think because their different and really play to the younger generation. I just love making them.
You asked about McTavishing. OMG Karen McTavish is the greatest thing that ever hit quilting! lol. I think she's wonderful. I even got to meet her this year AND take her class. She's a crazy dread locked hair tattoed harley ridin' traditional quilter! Mctavishing is her technique of filler quilting and it's just beautiful. It gives so much texture to a quilt. I did a practice piece for the event coordinator at our Civic Center (who asked me to direct a quilt show this year! woohoo!!) and he was just amazed that I took this pillow case he gave me with hand prints and turned it into something so beautiful. It was all McTavished! She's got a website, she's on Facebook and she's got several books out. I just received her newest one which came out a couple weeks ago. You should check her out!
