Hi Debi - Yes you are right.  My picture was taken at the Grand Canyon a few years ago on a vacation I took with my DH.  It was simply breathtaking!  We do have mountainous views in Upstate NY where I live.  Now in the City there are just a whole lotta skyscrappers!  I work in the Chrysler Building one of the many landmarks in NYC.

I am really enjoying this website as well as craftsy.com. I only joined last month and I am hooked!  I am on both everyday...lol.  I work full time and have 2 children, Justin 14 years old and Samantha 9 years old.  I have 2 businesses on the side that I hope one day will take off.  So I have a pretty hectic life which is just perfect for NYC.  My getaway is going home to the suburbs where nature sings and there is no hustle and bustle.  I love quilting and I am into paper crafts also.  Glad to be sharing my passions with people who have the same interest.  Don't really find much of that where I live.  I hope to start May blocks soon as my daughters First Holy Communion is this Saturday!   Have a great day!  Can't wait to see your blocks.

The other mystery that I'm doing is from The McCalls Quilting, it just says it's a mystery in three parts and I'm waiting on that one too...

Thank you, Debi.  My Block Buffet looks exactly the same, except I have my portable design wall back & it's hanging on it now.  I'll try to finish it when I get back from the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival in Hampton, VA.  I've missed you; you've been sick?  I'm glad you're feeling better.  Will you finish your Block Buffet and enter the contest?  I sure hope so!

Debi- take a close look if you can at the Welsh quilt I posted in the Gallery a few days ago.  I explain there that the quilting is done from the back(which in this case is a solid) with no reference to the top.  I think it somehow looks fine on the front.  Maybe you could quilt from your favorite side and then the reverse would be very interesting.  Though that would be a lot of seams to quilt through.

Happy birthday, Debi~I hope you have a wonderful day!

I joined this site at the end of April and I'm really enjoying it now that I found my way around.  Once I joined some of the groups I started meeting people; everyone has been so friendly and helpful!  There are no guilds, quilting groups or classes in my area, so I was thrilled to have found this site.  I hope you'll enjoy it here as much as I do!

Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and happy birthday!
